I would say that buying a snake is the best first pet you can get! Corn snakes are the best though. They are low maintenance they only need to be feed a couple of times a week. they need cleaning out every 2 weeks. Plus they only need heat pad not actual lamps so you dont have to buy bulbs all the time. Their cheap too. they dont smell and their quiet.
