What is neperka?

Nepërka [nae-purr-ka'] is the Albanian word for "Viper berus". That's a small reptile commonly found in Europe and East Asia. The ones that I have encountered, looked like small (about 20 cm long) garden snakes, with silver and brown/black patterns. Although most nerpërka breeds ARE venomous, their venom is seldom fatal to humans. Furthermore, nepërkas are very diffident animals; they will only attack when they feel threatened.
