Of course NOT! The most unusual thing (to Americans) that Mexicans eat is beef tongue.

Generally, the only people who eat dogs are homeless and/or very poor folks in southeast Asia, but eating rats is more common than that, due to dogs having very tough to chew meat while rats have lean meat.

As a matter of fact many Mexicans do eat dog meat. In some communities dog meat is considered as being a delicacy and in some restaurants you can have roasted Chihuahua if you ask for it. The breed is named after the Mexican state Chihuahua and although it is a small dog the taste of the meat is delicious, according to some people I know who have tried it.

However, dog meat consumption is taboo in Mexico among the majority.
