You have to unscrew the hex nut that is attaching the pulley to the motor. It can be relatively difficult so get a torque wrench.
To replace the pump belt on a Roper washer, first, unplug the machine and remove the control panel by unscrewing or unclipping it, depending on the model. Next, take off the front or rear panel to access the pump and belt. Remove the old belt from the pump pulley and motor pulley, then install the new belt by threading it around both pulleys, ensuring it fits snugly. Finally, reassemble the washer by replacing the panels and control, and plug the machine back in.
Belt is probably broken. Many dryers have fan either directly connected to the motor or on separate motor. Fan may be pulling in the hot air, but belt is broken, so motor is not turning the drum.

If your Roper dryer timer clicks but won't start, it could indicate a few potential issues. First, check that the door is fully closed and that the door switch is functioning properly, as a faulty switch can prevent the dryer from starting. Additionally, inspect the power supply, ensuring the circuit breaker hasn't tripped and that the dryer is receiving adequate voltage. If these checks don't resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the start switch, thermal fuse, or control board, which might require professional attention.
