Well you could start by getting together a group having a fundraiser and giving the money to homeless teens. I am a member of the greenford christian church (gcc) and there we have a center of hope that every Wednesday and Sunday from 11 to 5 people make donations for kids and adults. Last year the center of hope went to youngstown Ohio and handed out food clothes coats waterbottles drinks suitcases pillows bookbags and alot of other stuff. That's what I have to say. The most important factor to helping homeless people is to have better treatment and facilities for mentally ill and addicted people. This is the demographic that makes up most of the chronically homeless. Very few modern societies care to spend enough money or effort to successfully address the problems of this demographic and they are left to their own inadequate devices. For other groups, homelessness is usually a temporary situation. There are many types of programs in place for the able bodied and for those with the desire to find a way out of their homeless situation.
