The behaviour of people in traffic jams depends on the culture and country. Some countries are fairly laid back - as an example, usually in Canada the folks just calmly wait, turning off the engine if the traffic is at a dead stop and breaking out a book or music if the jam is the usual thing on the way home, According to what Iranian friends tell me, "back home" the participants try to find an alternate use of the road by driving in the median, the wrong side or in the parking lane. From movies and blogs New Yorkers and Americans in general usually do lot of honking and cussing to speed things up (?) and don't give up space even to emergency vehicles. Guns are occasionally discharged. Fans of Russian dashboard camera videos become aware that traffic jams and traffic in general seems to be a no hold barred event.
