Most bullies bully because they want to see a reaction. Keep a straight face and try not to react, then the bully will just get bored and most likely stop. (If not, then sorry. That's just what I've done.)

They think that making some one else look bad will make them look better and feel better about themselves. A lot of bullies know that they are bullies and that what they are doing is wrong but they don't care. They think it is the right thing to do or that it is funny. Which it is not funny!! DEAR BULLIES, Stop bullying because it stinks for younger kids that aren't your age! Imagine being on the other side of the punch or hearing the insult. Imagine feeling the punch or the insult being aimed at you! And having to go through the troubles to get your younger or older siblings to stop bulling.

How can you protect yourself from bullies?
Bullying is certainly getting out of control especially in schools. Bullies are generally just plain mean or, they can come from an abusive family or simply are use to getting their own way. Some bullies like to think they are cool and believe it brings them status. You can't deal with a bully because there is nothing they really want from you other than the fact they know that you fear them and this only hypes them up more. A psychiatrist on a program I just saw said that in every school there are so few bullies that if all the students who weren't bullies stood up to these bullies they would back off! Unfortunately, it's a 'me' or 'whatever' world and most students don't want to be part of it and move on with their daily life. If you or anyone you know is being bullied then see the school counselor or speak to your parents. Bullying is a serious issue and police, the educational system and other groups are trying to curb this so bullying will be no more. Penalties for bullying are getting tougher.
