Islam is reducing poverty through many ways, some of them are:
The word Zakah means purification and growth. Our possessions are purified by setting aside that portion of it for those in need. Each Muslim calculates his or her own Zakah individually. For most purposes, this involves the payment of 2.5% of one's capital, each Hijra year, provided that this capital reaches a certain minimum amount that which is not consumed by its owner through this year. A generous person can pay more than this amount, though it is treated and rewarded as voluntary charity (Sadaqah). This amount of money is provided to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, and can be used in many useful projects for the welfare of the community.
By employing the beggars for work,by reducing corruption and by reducing price of materials.

Money is not related in Islam and Christianity. It has no religious value.
During the Lyndon B. Johnson administration, the president began a series of programs aimed at reducing poverty in the US. This "war on poverty" has not been a success. Poverty remains a problem in the US.
To explain further - I need some policies that have attempted to reduce poverty in the UK but have not been successful. Please comment with any ideas you have. Thank you!
poverty and unemployment are closely related.whenever unemployment increases poverty automatically increases and when poverty increases it leads to an increase in unemployment by reducing interprenurship and investment.
India has a wide range of income levels, with a significant portion of its population living below the poverty line. While it has made progress in reducing poverty in recent years, the country still faces challenges related to income inequality and poverty.
I am afraid poverty is alive, well and thriving, Martin Luther King's work did much to raise the the standard of living of a percentage of the people in the USA by reducing the effects of racial discrimination. It did very little to reduce poverty let alone end it.
He meant that because poverty could easily be fixed by equalising the distribution of wealth (reducing inequity), those people who choose to inflict poverty are the worst criminals in human history. Play monopoly enough times and you'll realise our system is evil.
Poverty is a problem because it deprives individuals of basic needs like food, shelter, and healthcare. It can lead to poor health, limited education opportunities, and a cycle of generational poverty. This impacts society by increasing inequality, reducing economic productivity, and straining social services.
The percentage of people in poverty in a calendar year refers to the proportion of individuals or families whose income falls below the poverty threshold defined by governmental or international standards. This threshold varies by country and is often adjusted for inflation and family size. Monitoring this percentage helps assess economic well-being and the effectiveness of social policies aimed at reducing poverty.
