Way too many.

The 1993 Environmental Protection Agencies linking health concerns to second hand smoke was thrown out by a district judge for cherry-picking their information, even with the bias they could only conclude:

"The studies showed that for any given nonsmoker, the lifetime risk of getting lung cancer remains small: 4 to 5 in 1000 ordinarily, and 6 to 7 in 1000 if he or she has been living with a smoking spouse."

That's 100% exposure indoors over a lifetime.

BMJ did the longest most in depth study and concluded:

"Conclusions The results do not support a causal relation between environmental tobacco smoke and tobacco related mortality, although they do not rule out a small effect. The association between exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and coronary Heart disease and lung cancer may be considerably weaker than generally believed."

The smoke campaigns also like to bring up the idea that it's for the safety of the workers, This shows waitresses in smoke filled bars are exposed to only a 5th of what the EPA considers hazardous:

The EPA also states the following:

"Studies that support a CASUAL association between secondhand smoke and lung cancer."

"the chance of declaring these increases statistically significant was small."

"EPA has never claimed that minimal exposure to secondhand smoke poses a huge individual cancer risk."

"The lung cancer risk from secondhand smoke is relatively small compared to the risk from direct smoking"

So as you can see the science behind the health concerns of others over second hand smoke are practically impossible to even been seen in case studies, let along be justification enough to pass any bans. This information needs to be shared with the world, so the lies from the campaigns don't influence people to be vote stupidly. Like the quotes goes, "If you hear a lie long enough, eventually it becomes the truth".

Anyone can name a dozen people who have died from primary smoking, because it really does kill people. So if Second-hand smoke really kills people too, it should be possible to identify at least a couple of them.

So I ask, can you name three or four people who have died from second hand smoke?"

The numbers usually thrown around are 3,000 deaths per year directly from second hand smoke and another 63,000 deaths associated with second-hand smoke.

Strange. Over a million deaths in the past twenty years, and yet, no one can't name a single person.

We are also told that each cigarette you smoke takes 13 minutes off your life.

Thirteen minutes? Not nine, not fourteen, but precisely thirteen? Those are the kind of nonsense numbers no real scientist would be quoting. A real scientist would say something like "cigarettes increase the risk of dying prematurely."

No one can argue that, because that's a real, honest to goodness fact. But smoking seems to have no effect on some people (everyone knows someone who lived to be 90+ while smoking several packs a day) and a devastating effect on others.

The fact is there has never been a documented death related to second hand smoke.

None! Zero!

You have got to be joking. I hope you don't believe that. I know more than 1 person. Before you post a answer, you should learn a little about the subject...

Side Note From the Diasent: I have found two known cases where second hand smoke is was declared cause of death: An Obese, Alcoholic, Aids dude and a woman who worked in a VA where indoors smoking was allowed. With the man, all those things in combination was the cause of death, not second hand smoke. For the Woman, she really should have opened a window. one of the co-workers said that she could barely see the heads of patience due to the smoke. This just shows negligence on the staff of the VA hospitals fault in my Opinion. Smoking isn't the best thing for you, I agree with that, but nobody takes into consideration the effects of second hand smoke from diesel engines, cars, etc. Put your mouth on the tail pipe of a running car and see how long you last. if a person can smoke for 50 years, I doubt secondhand smoke really does anything. The meta-analysis report where they are pulling their "Facts" from is cherry picked information as well. One of the reports they pulled information from showed that second hand smoke was just as bad by intake as first hand smoke meaning that it wasn't nearly as bad as first hand smoke, but, they decided to take the "Second hand smoke is just as bad as first hand smoke." They didn't even use the whole sentence!! While I still agree that smoking isn't healthy, My opinion is that these anti-smoking idiots are liars and communists. That is my Side Note

The honest answer is that they absolutely no idea. They effectively make up the figures using a computer model based on the cherry picked studies and their 'creative' interpretation of their results - GIGO!

Give me billions of dollars and labs full of mercenary 'scientists' and I'll prove that secondhand nose-picking will wipe out the entire population of the planet before Global Warming does!
Estimates vary widely because of several factors, but range from less than 50,000 to approximately 600,000.
