There is no reason to be concerned if a pubescent adolescent is expressing an alternate sexual orientation.

However, at 12, I would be a little concerned, especially if the girl has not yet started to really show signs of puberty: Homosexuality is not a mental disorder and neither is developing early, but children who are abused may begin to act out sexually. As a parent/care giver of this child, it's up to you to keep an eye on them and ensure that there is good communication. If you suspect that something may have happened, consult a therapist or other childhood development professional.

If, in all other respects, she seems a happy, healthy and well adjusted individual then her sexual identity is nothing to worry about.
