well my sister has downs and its very hard to understand. first off you will have to understand the others will not. they might be picked on because there different. You will have to take it with pride because that's something that can not be stopped. medical wise you will have to watch they are pron for some things that others are not. like weight is a big one. another thing is that they learn slowly and might only be able to learn the basics. so if they do something wrong it will take them longer to understand that it is wrong. they will most likely through a fit over the little things. one big thing i realized is with my sister needs a routine and if it is messed up she will though a fit and just be nasty till she realizes that it will not happen.

So basicly I trying to say is that it is best to get there normal routine set and plan your life around it. a child with disabilities is hard but can be the high light of your life. I love my sister so much and love to hang out with her then anyone else in my life. She is always full of love. Most children are that have disabilities.

How does the Americans with disabilities act help citizens with disabilities?

The Americans with Disabilities Act helps U.S. citizens with disabilities by serving as a cornerstone for their current and future civil rights on behalf of Americans with Disabilities. While 504 was instrumental in establishing a national focus on people with disabilities, and many legal remedies, the ADA established the civil rights of people with disabilities in written form, for all to see and clearly understand as the law of the land. It paved the way to barring employment discrimination, housing discrimination, and all other forms of discrimination against Americans with disabilities - even beyond the reach of what was covered under Section 504 of the National Rehab Act. Perhaps it's truest strength is that it cannot be reversed, only strengthened, but time alone will finally determine that. sinqle baybee

Overcoming Learning Disabilities?

There are many different types of learning disabilities. These disabilities affect a lot of different people, including small children and adults. People with learning disabilities will undoubtedly face some difficult challenges in their lives. In today's medically advanced society, however, a learning disability is definitely not the end of the world. There are a lot of things that one can do to help oneself function as normally as possible. Learning disabilities can be especially frustrating for young children who are just beginning school. These children are often initially unaware of their disability and become increasing frustrated that they are unable to understand the material as well as their peers. Learning disabilities in children range from math learning disabilities to writing learning disabilities to English learning disabilities. Each of these disabilities presents its own unique challenges and frustrations. After an assessment has been given to a child and it is determined that the child does have a learning disability, immediate action should then be taken to ensure that the situation is handled in a positive and productive manner. There are many different accommodations that can be made in the classroom for young children who have been diagnosed with learning disabilities. Some of these accommodations involve special testing procedures, while others involve using different teaching techniques with these children. Direct instruction is often very helpful with kids who struggle with learning disabilities. Most teachers are more than willing to go out of their way to help these children learn. Adults who have learning disabilities have just as many problems as children who have them. The majority of these problems take place in the workplace as one does their best to learn and perform their various assigned job duties. These issues can be combated by a company's management if they make sure that the employee is properly trained. This training may be different and a lot more detailed than the training required of other employees. Companies have to comply with Equal Opportunity Employment procedures. These procedures are extremely helpful to people who have learning disabilities. In today's workforce, people with learning disabilities have the opportunity to be just as successful as anyone else.

Could people with disabilities vote in the year of 1789?

In 1789, voting rights in the United States were largely restricted to white male property owners, and there were no specific provisions addressing the rights of people with disabilities. Generally, societal attitudes at the time did not prioritize accessibility or inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Therefore, while technically there may not have been outright laws prohibiting them from voting, practical barriers and social norms likely prevented many from exercising that right.
