Wes Anderson has never publicly discussed his sexual orientation.

Anderson's demeanor, or his "character," could be seen as "gay" but it shouldn't. It might seem surprising, I know, but even if I didn't already know he was from Houston, it would be my first guess.

Stereotypes aside, natives of Houston's more semi-wealthy inner-city areas have the same sort of "bourgeois," sophisticate presence that Anderson carries. One might think this is more of Manhattan, L.A. thing, but it's not - not in the same way. They very much reflect the upper-class Houstonian's from 50 or even 100 years ago: dainty, earth-tone wearing, handkerchief carrying oil executives, etc. Very proper and "bourgeois," but also reflecting the more rustic feel of Texas.
