He is now deceased, but yes he was gay. He is known for his activism for equality and rights for gay men. His poetry addresses the sexual objectification of black men in white culture, relationships among gay black men and non gay black men, HIV/AIDS in the black community and the meaning of family.
Only some do, and you would have to ask them individually, because the reasons vary.
It is simply a matter of preference. In my case, I was pressured at a young age that being gay was wrong and that I should only date women. This led to disaster after disaster. Now that I am older I have overcome the social stigma, and finally come out. I want what should have been mine in the first place. So I guess I am starting out my life over again, but I want to go back to when I was a younger man and find another younger man. Is it cognitive dissonance? No. In my mind I am still attracted to younger men. Hopefully I will find a young man that appreciates the stability and maturity of me and we can be happy. I see it happen a lot, so I am not without hope.
Some older gay men want to be a 'father' type to these young guys. Also most young guys can last longer during sex and some older men feel satisfied when they can provide pleasure for young 'virgins'. Because they are weird enough as it is...but no older gay man who has a brain wants to be labeled as a homophile (phedophile+homosexual) Some older men and women(cougars), straight as well as homosexual, like younger partners to help them feel younger, make it feel like more of an accomplishment that they got into a relationship with them.
Yes, he prefers to go off into the woods at night with older gay men. He calls this "talking about art".
The answer should be no. Gay men think of gay sex, straight men think of straight sex as they get older. However, for various reasons through the years, gay men have married women when they were younger. Sometimes they didn't know they were gay. Sometimes they knew but hoped that by marrying, it would go away. Sometimes they knew but felt forced to marry by society, by their families, by expectations. As they get older, these gay men in straight marriages find that they get tired of living a lie. They don't always tell their wives about this, unfortunately, but start thinking about gay sex more. Sometimes they go out and have gay sex. And because they've never had to worry about condoms in their marriage, they may not bother with them in the new gay world. And some get diseases (including HIV) and bring them home to the wife. So if you are thinking more of gay sex as you are getting older, think about being honest with your wife, and ALWAYS use a condom.
No. The only sibling study done shows that men with older brothers have an increased chance of being gay, but this is not conclusive.
Gay men are already men.
Gay men are individuals who are attracted to other men romantically and/or sexually. Sexual orientation (being gay) does not influence someone's gender identity (being a man). Men, whether straight or gay, identify as male based on their self-perception and expression.
Studies show that gay men are more likely to have an older straight brother than not.
When women are gay, they are interested in other women. When men are gay, they are intersted in other men
Gay men usually chase other men.
