Environmental problems are OURS, not the government. We must all do our bit. Recycle, and perhaps cycle. return the packaging to the shop or manufacturer (some countries already do this!). Tidy your own bit and encourage others to do so also. The Government is elected by the People, not by industry; for the people, not business. And people can help the whales, spotted toads etc.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. Thomas Jefferson

Such a question is open to opinion. People who support a government are more likely to say that they are doing a good job than those that don't. Currently Ireland has many problems and the current government are trying to address them. Different people would have their own opinions as to how successful they are, depending on what way they think those problems should be addressed.
Thomas Jefferson. Smart man... The actual quote by Jefferson is "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." A variation of this was written by Alan Moore in the V for Vendetta comic book series in the late 1980s (which was made into a movie in 2005). The quote in this was: "People should not fear their government. Government should fear their people."
