Classic human nature. We want just a little more then the next person. We want just a slightly larger home or a better car. Whatever we can't get, we condemn the rest for having. Advertsing makes us feel we need that xbox, or faster internet. If we can not have that, we look down at those that do. It is an emotional win win.
The current Governments of many countries use this class envy for their gain. Taxing others, but never you (then they tax you). The whole issue is promoted by our Governments. We want you to want for more. We want you to be angry others have more and the Government will help correct this obvious issue. Without this envy, the Governments lose power.
