Serial killers come from all levels of society. Very few have a lifestyle that enables them to earn high salaries. Very few have a lifestyle that exposes them to public scrutiny as a rich person might experience.

The majority of serial killers have come from ordinary, everyday jobs, menial or part time jobs, or little regular employment.

Placing an income range for a serial killer isn't possible since serial killers operate in different societies, countries, and time periods.

How many African American serial killers on record?

How many serial killers are active right now?

It is difficult to provide an exact number of active serial killers at any given time. Estimates vary depending on what criteria are used to define a serial killer, and many may still be undiscovered or unidentified. Tracking and identifying serial killers is challenging due to the complex nature of their crimes and patterns.

What is the reason of serial killers?

There is no single reason for why serial killers commit their crimes, as motivations can vary widely. Factors that may contribute include childhood trauma, mental illness, a desire for power or control, and a lack of empathy or remorse. It is a complex combination of psychological, social, and environmental factors.

How many people did the Poughkeepsie Killer murder?

There isn't actually a killer named "The Poughkeepsie Killer" I am assuming you are referrring to the movie "The Poughkeepsie Tapes". This movie DOES NOT chronicle the killing spree of an actual killer, it is in fact fiction. Although there has been several serial killers who called Poughkeepsie home, such as Kendall Francois who strangled 8 women and kept them in his house-where he and his family resided and Nataniel White who murdered 4 women in the Hudson valley area. The premise of the story in the Poughkeepsie Tapes do not reflect the actions or lives of either killers.

Are white people more prone to be a serial killers than blacks?

Based on studies of Serial Killers (killers who have more than three periodic kills with cooling off periods, i.e. not all at once), performed by the FBI at their Quantico facility, and also U of Penn., it appears that far more serial killers are white than non-white. This seems to be true even in locales where there are equal or greater numbers of non-Caucasians. There may be some flaws in this study. When I read it, there were only 36 serial killers included, of which only 3 weren't white. 36 is far too small a number to draw statistical inferences from accurately, although 12:1 odds can't be ignored. Also, serial killer reporting only started in its roughest sense in the late 19th century, and not until the 1970's or so did it acquire momentum in law enforcement, psych, behavioral and criminological circles. So we can fairly assume that (a) especially in the early days, not all serial murders were reported or examined and (b) 36 is way below the actual number of serial killers internationally. Note also that military or police operatives that have many kills to their name (snipers for instance) are not in any way factored into the studies I've seen. In summary, at this time all reputable studies seem to indicate that the percentate per capita of serial killers white versus black show Caucasians seem to commit this crime far more often than blacks. The reasons for this are unknown at this time. Re.: as described in Sexual Homicide Patterns and Motivesd, Ressler, Burgess, Douglas, 1988.
