Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, then Germany offers to support A-H. Russia then offers to help out Serbia. Germany then declares war on Russia, and France sees this as an opportunity to get fight Germany, so they join Russia's team. The term "second world" was used during the Cold War to refer to countries under communist influence, mainly those in Eastern Europe and parts of Asia. However, the usage of the term has largely fallen out of favor, and now countries are typically classified as either developed (first world) or developing (third world).
By the end of World War II, millions of women had entered the labor force to support the war effort. In the United States alone, over six million women joined the workforce during this time, taking on various roles previously held by men who were fighting in the war.
It is estimated that around 1.2 million horses were used during World War II by various countries for transportation, cavalry, and other military purposes. These horses played a significant role in the war effort before the widespread use of mechanized vehicles.
The answer is more to what degree were nations involved. There were the nations that were fully involved in the Axis (Germany, Italy, Japan) or the Allies (Britian, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand), and the occupied countries (France, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Morocco, Egypt, Burma, China, Philippines), and even neutral countries who were involved, (Sweden, Switzerland) because they acted as intermediaries for banking and humanitarian needs. Countries allied or historically tied to nations at war were also involved through association and support of voluntary troops and goods (India, Bermuda, Barbados, French Antilles, Guyana). It might be easier to ask what part of the world was not involved in WW2. A couple of South American countries and some African nations escaped involvement of any kind... that's about it.
