African American Immigration into the UK dates as far back as the 18th century. Wikipedia states that "African American British are distinct from both the British African-Caribbean community and the African British community. Regions with significant UK populations include London, East Anglia, South East England and North West England. Based upon personal experience, I would say that the black population are most prevalent in London and Bradford. Bradford, however, also contains a very high Pakistani content. Many white people who grew up there were forced to leave due to so-called 'ethnic cleansing'. Such a term is based upon a clash of cultures within a certain area, which leaves one group to feel emotionally or physically threatened. Blacks in Britain tend to live in the cities, including Sheffield, Leeds and Manchester. They are not very common on the outskirts of cities or in the country.
