Samuel Adams worked in his father's brewery primarily during the late 1740s and early 1750s. After graduating from Harvard in 1743, he helped manage the brewery until his father's death in 1748, after which he took a more active role in the business. However, he eventually shifted his focus towards politics and revolutionary activities, leading to the decline of the brewery's operations.
The Boston Beer Company, who brews Sam Adams, is currently brewed in two brewery's primarily; Cincinnati Ohio in the former Hudepohl-Schoenling brewery, and in Breinigsville PA at a former Diageo brewery. These are the first production breweries for the brand, formerly being contract brewed at various breweries in the Midwest and Northeast. The Boston HQ facility is for recipe development and pilot brewing, with a limited production capacity, less than 1% of total volume.
