People who are addicted to alcohol, and people who have a physiological dependence on alcohol have to stop or they will destroy their lives and the lives of those close to them.

OK, I'm going to guess that you are her mother, first of all do not try to tell her what to do- teenagers hate that, secondly remind her that you love her and will be there for her always, let her know you only want to help her for her own good as she is you daughter and you love her very much.

If that fails allow her to drink in moderation, possibly take her out one day to eat and order her an alcoholic beverage to drink- she may love this as she may feel that you are treating her as an responsible adult and she may see what she is doing is not the way.

Please please please do not refer to it as her "problem", many teens do this sort of stuff for attention so try give it her, I dunno maybe take her to the movies or shopping- treat her as your equal which will give her a much needed confidence boost.

Get in touch with other parents who are going through the same thing or have done in the past and pick up tips from them and share your own, these parents may be available on the internet or local centre e.g. social centres.

Try not to dictate what she does but rather influence it slightly as any parent wishes for their child to stay on the right path and do good things. If all else fails get wasted with her one day and see what the outcome is, she may stop drinking or she may find a "drinking partner" in yourself which is also ideal as that allows you to be in control of any situation.
