Hernando Cortez

Montezuma was the ruler of the Aztec emporer in the early 1500's until Hernan Cortes arrived from Peru in 1519 and was attacked by the Aztec empire because he held Montezuma for ransom and killed him after he was delivered the ransom. The Spaniards defeated the Aztecs and took control of Mexico.

Among being the Eighth Aztec Emperor, Montezuma was also a fearless warrior and helped fight against Hernan Cortes, but in the end died from a rock to the head

Cortez killed the Aztecs because of the 3 G's. God, Gold, Glory. God: the Spanish wanted to spread cathlicism. Aztecs wouldn't accept it. Gold: Cortez thought the Aztecs were hiding gold. But the Aztecs were not hiding gold (they didn't even know what gold was!!). Cortez would not believe the Aztecs when they told him they had no gold. Glory: [note: I'm not sure if this last reason is true] The spanish killed the Aztecs (at least partly) because they can.

yes they had a war they had to collect sacrifices to satisfy there gods.

they were famous because they could defeat any army in battle and other armies didn't go next to them so they cant be sacrificed.

They believed that the gods would become angry with them and send disasters (floods, storms, wildfires) to punish them.

The Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan was in the location of the today's capital of the United Mexican States (Mexico), Mexico City.

The Aztecs carved with Jade and they were also Architects which also would count as art.

The Aztecs favorite [ and preffered] method of a sacrifice was taking the catured warrior, etc, to the top of one of there pyramids. there the high priest would rip out there heart , cut of there head , place it one a rack, and kick the corpse down the pyramids stairwell. gross huh? in some cases hat was left of the captured warrior at the botttom of the stairwell was eaten.
