Soundproofing is a method by which you reduce the amount of sound or noise that either enters or leaves a room. Otherwise known as noise or sound control, there are several different methods for soundproofing depending on the type of noise you are soundproofing against and the source from which the noise originates.
There are to main methods for soundproofing - sound absorption and sound blocking. Sound absorption is used in situations where you may want to absorb sound before it leaves the room you're in. An example is in a home theater where you may use high volumes but don't want the sound to disturb those in other areas of the house.
Sound blocking is a method in which you keep sound from entering a room. An example would be soundproofing your bedroom so that you do not hear noises from your kitchen or laundry room as you try to sleep.
In some cases, like in the creation of a sound studio for music recording, you might want to use soundproofing materials that can perform both functions. That way your music isn't marred by outside sounds and you aren't bothering those around you either.

How to repair Garage Door Spring?
In most situations a company will come out and replace the spring with an entirely new spring. Even though there are some companies that will offer actual repairs on the broken spring, this is not recommended. Usually when springs break it is because the metal is becoming "weak." In this case, repairing it would be comparable to patching up a pair of worn out jeans. If you found a rip in your old tattered jeans, patching it to cover the rip might work, but eventually the jean will rip somewhere else. It could be the next day or even a month from now. But getting the item replaced entirely would avoid this (soon to be) problem.
How do you network two buildings that are far apart?
Try using repeaters. For instance, use CAT6 cable to connect the buildings and add a repeater every 100m (because that is the maximum length that CAT6 can have without a repeater).
Hope that helps

Why is it important to have exact standards of measurements?
In short, without exact standards of measurement, no one could speak of the same amount of a thing. For example, imagine you're trying to bake a cake. The recipe calls for 3 "bunches" of flour. Now you are totally confused because you don't know how much flour to use, because a "bunch" of flour is not an exact standard of measurement.
Or maybe you go to the bank and tell them you'd like to deposit "a lot" of money.
Hopefully you can see that both of these situations (although ridiculous) are lacking in exact standards of measurement.
This can be applied to more scientific areas. For instance, if you are recording an experiment for other scientists to also study and verify, you must use exact measurements.
