Where is the canister vent solenoid on a 1998 Chevy calivier?

This depends on the actual date manufactured. Most likely under the car next to the fuel tank in the ventialation canister. If you have a code set in the ECM on this solenoid then it was most likely set because when a person pumped gas into the car they tried squeezing that last little bit into the tank and this is a huge NO NO. When this is done it saturates the canister with gas and can cause alot of problems. Basicaly the cheapest way to correct a fuel canister problem is to keep using the car and after all the fuel has evaporated out of the canister the problem will go away. Remember when pumping gas to only pull the triger on the pump half way and take another minute longer to prevent this plus the first time the pump kicks off then it's full. Don't try squeezing that last few since in. Doing this will keep any problems from occurring in the Fuel Ventialation Canister.

Where is the oil filter on a 2009 Chevy HHR?

You access the oil filter from under the hood. On the front right side of the engine, about half way down, locate a 3 1\2 to 4" round black circular cap with (I think it's 30 or 32mm) "nut" on top. Unscrew the cap. The filter will come out with the cap. The filter is a cartridge style filter.

How do you find tire mfg date?

There are a series of numbers printed on the sidewall of the tire, just above the bead area.

They will not be as uniformed or professional looking as the tire size number or printed brand of the tire. One side of the tire will have these additional numbers and the other side won't. The side with the most numbers", will tell you the manufacture date. The last 4 numbers are the date recorded as week and year. For instance if it lists 1608, then the tire was made the 16th week of 2008.

How do you test a ignition coil pack on a 2003 Chevy silverodo?

I found the easiest way to do this is read the codes, if it is reading a misfire on one cylinder, then swap that coil pack with one of the other cylinders coil packs, then you will have to clear the codes and drive it, then see if it throws a new code on a different cylinder.

Chevy 5.7 manifold leaks?

It is a common flaw in the 5.7. Some say put there on purpose to drum up business for the Chevy garages. I never heard anything officially from GM, however, I always thought it odd, that they go out like clockwork, and on everyone of them. At the rear of the motor, the intake manifold buts up to the cylinder head, and water transfers there. The gasket, (a piece of soft material sandwhiched between two pieces of metal to bridge irregularities of the two surfaces) fails in this area, thus leaking water, only under pressure. Not when cold, but hot only. The vehicle is moving, so no puddle. When it is cold, it does not drip, so no signs, in the driveway. Having to add water, on a consistant basis, is a sign. A sweet smell when shutting motor off, and getting out, would be another. The motor running hotter than normal, would be a third. And, it seems to happen every 50,000 miles. At Chevy, I used to charge right around $275, for the process, and the vehicle had to sit overnight. If you choose an outside shop, used one recommended, as this can ba a tricky proceedure.
