Yes it is. It can fly over 120 miles per hour.
no you can not because falcons are wild
* Correction - Yes you can. However, it is a protected species and there are very strict regulations for ownership. You can also hunt with a falcon, but again, strict regulations. State and Federal regulations cover these. In New Jersey, you are required to prove that you have successfully owned and worked with a red-tailed hawk for two years before you are allowed to own a falcon. You should check your local State laws but expect to have to prove expertise prior to owning a falcon. Check the link below to learn more about starting the long education into getting a falcon license -
This depends on what its doing. Just crusing around or in a chase. I have paced a Merlin at 50 mph and it looked like it wasing giving any effort. I have also flown a Merlin in falconry and seen it outfly a pigeon in a dead run. I would guess anywhere from 50 to 60 mph's in a strait run and faster in a stoop.
Falcons live in many places. Peregrine falcons for example, live often on cliff ledges, but in urban areas have been known to nest on skyscraper ledges and bridge supports. Falcons can live quite happily in both rural environments and city settings.

Species preservation and biological control
The peregrine falcon is an essential part of our ecosystem. Without them, we'd have overpopulation of other species. What you're asking right now is like asking "Why save humans?" Because we want to live. We don't contribute to the environment like the Peregrine Falcon does. We just kill everything. Think about it.
Prairie falcons tend to eat small birds, as they are easy picking when they are low flying. They also eat small mammals - more so in summer when these small mammals are most active. If you want more information, you'll need to find out where the specific Prairie Falcon you want to study lives, then look for the small animals that are native to that area.
Gyrfalcons that live into adulthood can live up to 20 years.
50 a day in cheshire
To become a falconer you have to go through many steps. First you have to become a apprentice, which you can become at 16. Apprenticeship takes at least 2 years of constant dedication to your bird. Since falconry is a serious commitment--some consider it a lifestyle--training almost invariably takes 7 years. So, at the very least, you can be an independent falconer at age 25.
its not a who, federigos falcon is a book/story, there is a character named federigo and he has a falcon when he used to be what we would now say modern day military. He fell in love with this girl Monna and tried to show his love to her by buying her things to impress her when her husband died. however she never noticed him because so many other men were doing that too. He wasted all his money on her and became very poor. Then one day Monnas son became very ill and she asked him if there was one thing that would make him better and he said the joy of seeing federigos falcon, i must have it. So Monna went to the barn were Federigo was working and had dinner with him. He had nothing to serve so he killed his falcon because it was the only thing worthy enough to give Monna. When Monna found out she was very upset yet happy that he would do that for her. Once Monnas son died, her brothers told her she should remarry. Monna remairred...She married Federigo.
