What is the name of a bug or insect that has about 40 legs?

You are probably referring to the millipede of which there are about 1000 different species. They are somewhat misnamed since they have anywhere from 36 to about 400 legs (depending on the species), but they sure look like they have a million.

You might also be referring to the centipede which has 24 to about 200 legs, again depending on the species.

You can easily tell the two apart by the fact that the millipede has a rounded body with two pairs of legs on each segment, whereas the centipede has a flattened body with a single pair of legs per segment - that is if you can get one to stay still long enough to tell.

If something with 2 legs eats something with 6 legs what will happen?

Are earwigs harmfull to humans?

From what I've heard about earwigs, they prefer small, enclosed, and moist places, specifically to burrow and lay eggs. Many people claim that earwigs will nest in people's ears because of the favourable conditions that they look for in nests, but the likelihood of this happening is very low unless you live in very bad conditions.

If insects lay so many eggs why don't insects overrun the garden?

A) Most insects are quite small, making their presence in a garden or yard minimal.
B) Many insects prey on the eggs, larvae (immatures), and adults of other species as well as their own (depending on food availability). Predation is not limited to other insects either; birds love to eat insects, I know for a fact cats will 'play' with larger insects, for the amusement factor. If not consumed, the dead carcass will not last long on most occasions due to other insects, etc. that rely on carcass' for food.
C) Not all insects live above ground, making their presence less noticeable.

hope that helps.

Mayflies protect themselves through their short adult lifespan (1-2 days) and by having adaptations such as quick flight and the ability to blend into their surroundings, making it harder for predators to locate and capture them. Bees don't have a tail but have 3 parts to their body. They have a head, a thorax and an abdomen. They will search for food up to 1.5km away from their hive but if they are desperate they can travel up to as far away as 8km. A single bee will make an average of 1 teaspoon of honey in it's lifetime. All the worker bees are female but do not reproduce. The Queen bee does that. The Queen bee can lay up to 3000 eggs a day. She mates with the drone bees (which are the only males) by flying up into the sky. All the drones will follow her and the fastest will get the prize of mating with her.
