The duodenum does not actually produce any digestive enzymes, it produces chemicals that are called buffers. The most important are the Brunner's Glands (duodenal glands) which produce mucus which helps to neutralize the acid in the chyme from the stomach. The pancreas is the gland that actually adds digestive enzymes into the duodenum so that it can digest all three types of food; proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.

I got some relief by drinking more water at night, eating oatmeal in the morning for breakfast and exercise. I still have some abdominal pain from constipation but I am able to go to the bathroom regular. Also I don't take a dose on Sundays and my system seems to clear out. I'm going to ask my doctor for a different medication.

I've been on strattera for 3 weeks and I've only gone to the bathroom twice. It's severe and painful constipation to the point that it bleeds. Havent tried anything yet. If anyone knows the answer to this question please share it with us.
