Well there would be two one before the "transformation" and after
before: she was beautiful

you can blame Athena for that because she caught Posiden in her temple "with" medusa
Why doesnt Medusa like people?
The reason Medusa turns people into stone is because she used to be super beautiful so she made out with Poseidon and were making out in Athena's temple, and Athena got angry and turned Medusa into a creepy snake head lady
The nymph Medusa was having an affair with Poseidon and they arranged to meet in Athena's temle. Athena got very angry when she found that they had used her temple for this so she turned Medusa and her sisters, who had helped them, into gorgons.
Because you would turn into stone if you looked into her eyes.
Why do you turn to stone if you look into medusas eyes?
Medusa was turned into a Gorgon by reason of either two things:
1. Medusa and Poseidon were caught together at Athena's temple, and since Athena was promised to Poseidon, Athena could not punish him, so she punished Medusa by changing her into a monster.
or
2. Medusa was a normal human woman that worked in the temple of Athena. Medusa thought herself to be more beautiful than any goddess, even Athena. When Athena found out about this, she turned Medusa into a monster that no one would want to look at.
One attribute of Medusa's curse was to have eyes that turned anything into stone once they were looked into. Just a fraction of a look was enough. Just to show that no one would ever look upon her in beauty again.
Perseus, the killer of Medusa, used a shield to look upon the reflection of Medusa, since a reflection will not harm you.
As a side note, there is some evidence that the myth is based around the real illness, Seefer's disease (a.k.a. Human Statue Syndrome), which causes one's skin to harden in roughly twenty minutes (this being said, there have only been a handful of cases known to modern medicine).
Medusa's Gorgon sisters were Sthenno and Euryale, the children of Phorcys and Ceto (or Ceto and Gorgo). Their sisters would be the Graiai: Deino, Enyo, Persis or Pemphredo. Ekhidna and perhaps Skylla, their brother is Landon, the Hesperian dragon. Another sister was Thoosa.
no sadley medusa is not real but remains a important part in Greek myths
Medusa was a Patron Goddess of the Libyan Amazons, prior to becoming a mythical monster of Greek mythology. She may also be a relic of the Goddess worshipping cults of Antiquity.
*According to some fringe scholars, she may have been an actual Warrior Queen possessing a great tangle of Dreadlocks, that were the style of the time and comparable to a tangle of serpents.
(*None of this has been proven fact, however.)
No. Medusa is a Gorgon, she and her 2 sisters were cursed by Aphrodite so when they look at someone the person turns to stone
the fact that if you look her in the face you turn into stone
What book is this from how did Medusa get snakes for hair?
Usually the story is that Medusa was an Athena priestess, who once made love to Poseidon in Athena's temple. In revenge Athena turned Medusa into something as ugly as possible.
Another Answer:
Because she was making love in a temple that belonged to Athena and in rage Athena turned Medusa's hair into snakes, or Medusa bragged about her hair and Hera, out of jealousy, turned her hair into snakes. Whatever makes sense to you.
Yet Another Answer:
Medusa once informed Athena that Snakes were more Fair(more beautiful) than Athena herself in order to spite her. In a fit of rage Athena damned Medusa to become that which she held so high.
Medusa's head doesn't disintegrate along with the rest of her Why not?
because her head can not disintegrate like the rest of her for it can be used to help in war by turning people to stone and even when Medusa is dead even looking at her can still turn you to stone.
In order to offer a date of her demise, she would have had to exist, and she didn't. The story of Medusa is one that is told to offer as allegory to the concept of man overcoming adversity, fear and the wilderness. The monsters the founder-king heroes slayed were all indicative of darkness and powers of nature. Medusa, for example, represented the dangers of the sea (since she was connected to Poseidon).
There are many variations on the Medusa legend. As a monster, she is most often described as having either dark/black, yellow or bloodshot eyes. Before she was cursed, she is widely considered a stunning beauty who caught the attention of many a would-be suitor. Then, she had beautiful, golden hair and equally beautiful, light eyes.
