If you don't want to feel a shot, ask your doctor (or whoever is giving you the shot) to inject it very slowly. Take a big breath before the shot, and exhale while it's being injected.

Many things could cause pain in the upper right, inner thigh area. It could be an issue with the muscle, blood clot, bruising, or an infection. It is best to have it checked out by a physician.

It depends on the patient, the strength of the medication, how long you've been taking them, and your overall dependence/tolerance level. Generally, the longer you've been taking it and the higher the dose, the stronger the withdrawals are. How long they last is different for each person, but regardless you should never stop and do it cold turkey. Aside from the extreme pain and discomfort, you risk other problems and serious injury to yourself if you're not being supervised or monitored through the process.

The easiest way is to use a system of Incremental Dose Reduction. While I've written about it many times here on WA, I posted a How To on E-How last month that has the step-by-step procedure you can follow that will help you.

If you don't want to do it that way, you can always ask your doctor for withdrawal drugs like Suboxone. The problem with those though, is that it's just another drug you'll eventually need to stop taking as well. IDR gets you to the point where you can stop taking them altogether.

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, not a pain killer. It is likely that it was given to kill the infection that caused the problem to begin with. The pus will drain out and with it the swelling should also go away. The pain will go away with the puss, pressure and swelling. It is unlikely that, because of the infection, a pain medication would have done much anyway without the antibiotic. Zilactin or Num-zit can help to temporarily relieve pain, such as before bedtime, and is an over-the-counter medication.

from what I understand by reading the results of my MRI, and I am no expert at all, but it seems like l4 l5 and s1 verterbraes surround the thecal sac, and if the protrude out or are bulging, that would compress the thecal sac...That is on the anterior side...hope that helps someone

Thecal sac is also known as the lumbar cistern, and is the space below the termination of the spinal cord (L1/L2). It is covered by dura and arachnoid mater, and contains CSF (cerebrospinal fluid). A compression can result from vertebral disc herniation, edematous tissue in the surrounding epidural space, tumors, or anything that can invade the surrounding area (meningiomas, etc). If it's a disc herniation, since it's below the level of the spinal cord, it will compress nerve roots, typically compressing the transversing root below the level of the disc herniation. ie.-an L4/L5 herniation will compress nerve root L5 and you will get dysfunction according to that root and functional distribution. It can also impinge on lower roots, however this is uncommon. Hope that helps.
