The trick is to NOT be nervous... that will make you sound bad. Then you will get more nervous and the cycle will continue until the end of the song. Do not worry about impressing people, don't focus so much on hitting notes, and believe in your talent!

all babies cry in whistle register when they are born. it is a natural bodily action the we are born with but commonly lose as we grow up. women can usually find their whistle after puberty because they use it when they scream. it takes much more effort for men to get it back because men don't usually make such high noises.

For 10-15 minutes, whatever your vocal cords can stand, alternately with a full breath, sing your highest CLEAR high note until you are out of breath, followed by a full breath and sing your lowest low note, clear or not, until you are out of breath. Relax between notes if you need to.

When you sing scales, you start on a note and if the key is major, you sing Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do. That's the first thing you learn. Then you switch to minor, and chromatic. It can get complicated. You should master singing major first.

There seem to be no foods that can help you sing better. But some can make singing worse. You want to avoid sweets, alcohol, certain sticky/slippery vegetables (like okra), and dairy before singing.

Please rephrase your question so it is clearer. I think you are asking "How can you sing a your own part when singing with a group or another person?" In that case, it helps to learn how to read music so that you may study and learn your part separately from others. Nothing really takes the place of learning to interpret those black dots and squiggles on the sheet music. Meanwhile, you really need to listen closely to others in your section and follow along as closely as you can, and hope that they know what they are doing more than you do. If you are singing a duo, or in some other arrangement where you are the only person singing that part, you do need find a way to hear the part both separately, and against whatever part you are singing. If you do read music and can play the piano, play your part and sing along with it until you feel you know it. Then play the other part, or parts, and still sing your part. How did you do? If you can't play the piano or another instrument, then find someone who can help you learn your part. Really listen to what your part sounds like against the others. Some people actually plug their ears so they don't hear the other parts, but this really does not help and can actually further throw you or the other singers off. Plus it looks silly.

I've been singing unprofessionally since gradeschool and these are the best I've found.

Goods: water, non-caffeinated or low caffeine teas (such as green or lemongrass but drink them warm, not hot and not refrigerator cold), pomegranate juice, and pepsi (especially just before performing)

Bads: milk, cheese, yogurt, anything with caffeine(I know I mentioned pepsi and tea but tea relaxes your chords and pepsi has carbonation that helps clear away mucus if drunk cool rather than cold or warm), coffee, and anything with high sugar content (again strangely enough an occasional pepsi seems to be a good thing)

Whatever you do don't chew gum or drink diet sodas or milk the day of a performance. No matter what you're doing, singing, making a speech, or reciting a poem, use proper amplification tools, you don't want to overwork your voice.

Most soprano music in the "Medium high" or "high" ranges work for second soprano.

You can't just become a first soprano. Learn how to use your voice correctly, though, and you can be soaring over a high C! I consider myself a second soprano but since learning how to use my voice my range has gotten higher - my highest note is an E above high C.

Learn how to use the voice. Taking voice lessons from a professional is the best way to learn. Sing with your cheekbones and soft palate raised and breathe into the diaphragm as opposed to into the lungs.
