A student of high IQ is normally ostracized from the more normal (average) students and attacked as a nerd or weirdo who likes to read and does different things, because their brains work at a different frequency. So schools need to educate the smart students in a separate settings, partly to avoid bullies. In the society, they either get more work because they are smart and finish work early, or pigeonholed to do individual projects, because they are not managerial material or a team player, just because they see things at a higher level. But yes, if one can keep that genius inside and pretend to be normal, one can be a happy member of the society.

To be successful, it is more important to be a good orator/speaker, articulate, and have a good memory (so that one needs to absorb the info just once, whether from conversation or written materials). A tall and fit body helps too. Always wear a smile. If one classifies possessing these qualities as being a genius, so much the better.
