Weezer is a rock band from Los Angeles, California; their lead singer is Rivers Cuomo, who also writes many of their songs. Weezer originally got together in 1992, and their music is considered in the "alternative rock" genre.

In an interview, Win Butler, said that before they began writing for the album, he had gotten a letter from an old friend from his home town, Houston Texas. In the letter there was a picture of his friend near the mall Win and his friends hung out often as kids. He said that it brought back memories and was inspired to write an album about childhood and the pureness of being a kid. The song "The Suburbs" sort of sums up the whole concept of the album. The term alternative rock came about in the very late 80's and 90's and at the time was synonymous with "grunge music". At that time there was nothing like it at all on the radio and in most places, in the very beginning, you couldn't really even find that type of sound even at a local bands show so it was an "alternative" to what was on the radio. As with most things who's popularity blasts off like a rocket, the scene became over exposed. What people call "alternative rock" today really isn't in the true sense of the term.

Arcade Fire are sometimes called Chamber Pop, but are generally considered Indie Rock. They do cover a lot of ground though, with a mixture of punk, pop, and classical influences, so they don't comfortably sit under any single label.

Well according to the album, Waking Up, and a few websites, it supposedly came out in 2009, but I just began hearing it in the summer of this year, 2011, and it was played on VH1's countdown as if it were brand new. So, maybe the video was new?
