The way you ask the question sounds as if you think they shouldn't be, though frankly it's a mystery to me as to why.

There are Amish in Puerto Rico. However, I don't know of any hispanic Amish.

They don't just drive black cars they drive any car that doesn't draw too much attention. Such as a gray van or black car. They can't have cars that are too flashy or draw too much attention. So you wouldn't see a true mennonite in a red camero or an orange viper.

This is my theory, it might be different to others: Martyrs are people who believe in Christ and they preach to other people about Him, trying to get more believers. But sometimes, that country might kill him/her, because they don't want Christianity in their country, and that death of the martyrs doesn't actually break down the cycle, but makes it even better. So the death of the martyrs changes the Holy Spirit in us so that we gain courage and Christianity gets stronger and stronger.

Amish communities are not only in Carlisle PA but all over the country. Most have started in Lancaster County PA until all the English started invading them. The Amish became Tourist attractions and they moved to more quiet places.

Since Land values skyrocketed in the Lancaster Valley. Their Farms were Ideal places to build housing, so they sold their farms at higher prices and bought up farms in different areas that were cheaper. Most Amish Moved into the smaller towns and areas where they could buy up smaller farms around 100 or more acres.

I know of some that bought up the land next to my family farm and they could purchase much more than they have. They have money because they work hard and watch what they spend on. They don't have to pay electric, Gas, or most taxes like school tax.

The same way we do, they use water.
