How powerful is a 9mm bullet?

Technically, a 9mm bullet has NO energy, since the bullet is the metal part that leaves the muzzle of the gun when fired. However, the 9mm Parabellum cartridge does have energy. The exact energy varies with the loading of that cartridge- but about 420 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle. Typically this is more than a .38 Special cartridge, less than a .357 Magnum cartridge.

Will a sks shoot a 7.62 x 51 bullet?

No. The SKS fires a 7.62x39 cartridge, but actually uses a .311 bullet. The 7.62 x51 is too long for the SKS action, the chamber of a SKS is too short for the cartridge, the power of the 51 is too high for the SKS action, and the bullet of the 7.62x51 is actually .308, not .311. Does not match up in any way.

Can you shoot a lower caliber bullet out of a 25?

No. A smaller caliber will either not fire at all, or will split the cartridge casing if it does fire.

How far will a 38 caliber bullet travel?

To some extent, this will depend on the weapon that fires the cartridge.

Assuming that your question relates to the .38 Special cartridge, when fired from a 4 inch barreled revolver, the bullet would have a maximum range of about 1800 meters. This would be when the barrel was elevated at about a 45 degree angle.

The effective range (usable) would be less than 100 meters.

If fired from a rifle (yes, there are rifles that will fire a .38 Special) the range would be greater than if fired from a revolver. If fired from a 2 inch barreled (snub nosed) revolver, the max range would be less.

Can you fire .38 cal ammo in a firearm chambered for .357 Magnum?

.38 Special cartridges may be safety fired in a .357 Magnum firearm. The .38 Special is actually not .38 caliber, but is .357 caliber. After shooting them, it is a good idea to scrub the chamber well, as the shorter .38 Special may build up a ring of fouling that will make chambering .357 cartridges difficult (until it is cleaned). .38 Special is basically a .357 Short. This does NOT apply to other .38 ammo, such as .38 Super, .38 S&W, etc.

Where can you get .30 caliber rimfire ammo for antique pistol?

Both the .30 Short and the.30 Long rimfire cartridges went out of production about 1917-1920. They are considered an obsolete cartridge, and have not been seen by most folks that are not cartridge collectors. Single specimens are traded and sold by collectors, but are not likely to be shootable due to age. They are also $2-5 per cartridge, and would be rather pricy to shoot. Sorry-

Can the Taurus judge shoot 30-06 ammo?

No. The Judge series are chambered for .45 Long Colt and .410-bore shotshells. That means a bore diameter of .454 inches, whereas the .30-06 has a diameter of .308 inches. In addition, the pressures would be unacceptable, and it's unlikely that an unrimmed .30-06 round would even chamber in a revolver.

Do you have hornady reloading data for 75gr A-max bullet and 55gr V-max bullet with hodgen varget powder?

Link at the bottom of the page takes you to the Hodgdon (note spelling) website. You did not mention what caliber you are loading. Asking for load data on an open website is very dangerous- Here on Wikianswers, anyone may ask or ANSWER a question, with no verification of credentials. For all you know, I am 12 yrs old, and Mom does not know I am on the computer. Good luck with your reloading, shoot safe (and often)

Can 243 ammo be shot from a rifle chambered for 308?

It MAY shoot. It will not shoot well. It may not shoot safely.

The .243 is a necked down .308 cartridge. You are sending a .24 bullet rattling down a .30 barrel. It may or may not trap enough gas to cycle an autoloader. It WILL blow out the case mouth.
