If you are referring to World War 2, then you probably mean the .308 bullet used in the British Enfield rifle, the typical infantryman's rifle used in World War 1 & 2. It was a rifle round that was 0.308 inch diameter. The "50 Caliber" was a 0.500 inch caliber bullet that was about 4 inches in length that was used in heavy machine guns that were used on tanks and aircraft.

Suggestion- You may also have been thinking about a .30-06 Springfield, which the M33 Ball .50 Cal ammuntion is based upon. The .50 Cal is actually on a super scaled up version of it. But no, a .338 is in NO way a .50 cal.

It depends on the pistol make and model, and what it is chambered for. Most semi-autos nowadays hold at least 12 rounds. Most revolvers hold six.

.380 is not as popular anymore as the 9mm round is, as well as the Military uses 9mm, so they make more of it than they do .380. I have heard that one of the main manufacturers of .380 ammo was shutdown in leu of the more popular 9mm round.

The AK47 is caliber 7.62x39. The .308 is a much longer (about a half inch longer), more powerful cartridge, with a heavier bullet, and is too long to cycle through the AK action.

That number of rounds can vary. Most of us are familiar with revolvers that hold six rounds. Some pistol magazines can hold up to 13 and more. I know of one revolver with a cylinder that holds nine rounds.
