their mom and dad were told that that they're going to have a kid who was going to be a more powerful god than his dad. The mom kept producing babies ( Apollo was one of them) and their dad kept eating them so that he remains powerful as a god . when the 12'th baby was born, the mom thought enough is enough so she wrapped a rock in baby blankets and gave it to the dad ( he was pretty old and was nearly blind ) he ate the rock and threw up. All those babies that had been eaten earlier came out in safe and sound and the 12'th kid became Zeus. All the others became the other gods ( Poseidon, Athena, hades ,Thor ,etc..)
