- Bevo Francis of Rio Grande College scored 113 points in one game against Hillsdale College in 1954. This is recognized by the NCAA as the highest one-game total ever (all divisions). Frank Selvy of Furman (division one) scored 100 points in one game against a division two school.
- JJ Eubanks scored 101 points in Israel. 1994-1995 season while playing for Division 1 professional ball club Maccabi Ramat Gan.

It used to Larry Bird or Paul Pierce. not anymore. One Thursday April 30 09 (game 6), Ray Allen scored 51 points against Chicago bulls with 9 three pointers (NBA record of the most threes) but Celtics lost in triple overtime 128-127
Allen still thought he played horrible because he missed a two at the last second.
BTW that is the second most points scored in a loss by an NBA player in history.
