A BB gun is a gun that fire tiny round balls called BBs. BB guns can be either be spring air, pump action, or canister powered. BB means ball bullet, this name originated after the bird-shot pellet which is a similar size. The pellets usually made of steel but can sometimes by made of either Zinc or Copper to fight erosion.

Both a pellet gun and a BB gun are similar in appearance But here is the main difference. Most BB guns have a smooth bore barrel. The BB just tumbles as it flies through the air. BB guns are not very accurate. The BB also doesn't deform when it hit the target. It's a very poor choice for hunting small game. However they are fun and inexpensive to shoot. Most will not attain a speed of much more than 400 feet per second (FPS.) Pellet guns use several different shape pellets. Some are for target shooting some are for hunting and other uses. Pellet guns usually have a rifled barrel (One with grooves in it.) This causes the pellet to spin as it travels to the target. This spinning make it more accurate just like a real bullet. The pellet is made of a softer material than BB's and when they strike the target they deform causing more damage to the target. They are ideal for hunting small game like rodents and birds. Pellet guns can attain a speed of over 600 FPS and pellet rifles can reach speeds of over 1,200 FPS. BB are .175 or .177 Caliber. Pellets come in .177, .20, .22, .25, 9mm, 45 Cal and 50 Cal. The last 3 LARGE calibers are used the PCP guns and Rifles (PreCharged Pneumatic air guns) They are capable of bringing down a moose. However PCP guns and rifles are very expensive. Pellet guns are less expensive and BB guns are the least expensive. Now don't confuse BB Air guns with Air Soft guns. They both shoot BB's but air guns shoot steel BB that are small and Air soft guns shoot plastic 6mm BB's. Air soft guns are considered toys while air guns are not. The model 126.102940 was made by Crosman air gun. It is a Crosman model V350. It was made from 1961-69. It is a variation of another model the Quackenbush Model 7. The values run from Excellent to Poor $120-$30. I cannot tell you how much it was originally. It was a push barrel design.

As you can see this is dependent on age in the STATE statutes, however you must further check with your local and county laws to determine legality.

BB guns arnt THAT dangerous because they really don't pierce the skin. You can kill chipmunks and soem birds with them but we had 2 guys who worked for us wo were messin around with one and shootin themselves in the leg and it hurt but it didnt go into the skin or anything. But if you do give one to a child i recommend you have them use it with adult supervision. My dad also got me one when i was around 8. i didnt really use it but i used it with him a couple of times or maybe once. I don't know, but i think if the child is 7 or 8 and under, that they use the gun with adult supervision. I also recommend you reserach this answer more than this because im no BB gun expert or anything, that's just my experience. So maybe do some other research on it but i hope a little bit of this helps.

Daisy air rifle and Crosman air guns made air rifles for Sears under the Higgins name. Any Air rifle that starts with 799 was made by Daisy air rifle. Any air rifle that starts with 126 was made by Crosman. To get them repaired I suggest that you go on-line and search "Air Gun Repair." There are several places around the USA that repairs and reseals old air guns.

I am not sure of all this information but I can tell you this. Any JC Higgins BB rifle/gun starting with 126 was made by Crosman airgun. Any BB rifle/gun starting with 799 was made by Daisy airgun for Sears under the JC Higgins name. Now for your rifle. I believe it is a rifle. (Right?) It has a lever action and looks similar to a Winchester? If so, it originally was made by the P.Y. Hahn company but was bought out by Crosman. It's called the Crosman model 166 (Hahn Super BB Repeater) made 1958-71. I can't give you a value, because you have not stated the condition of the rifle. Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair or Poor. Does it still work? I need to know more information to give you an estimate.

I know of No Crosman BB GUN model V35C. However Crosman made a V350 BB Rifle from 1962 to 69. If this is the rifle you are asking about please post the condition of the rifle. ( excellent, good, fair or poor.) It was a push barrel rifle. Is it in working condition? Repost with the information.

If you want quality then there are no cheap BB guns, Their are just cheap BB guns that when they break, they are not worth fixing. They are poor in power and not very accurate. The cheapest line of BB gun are made by Marksman. An example is the Marksman model 1010. It cost under $30 and has less power than a Daisy Red Ryder. The Marksman line of air rifles are also cheap and not accurate. The next one up from the Marksman is the Daisy Red Ryder. They are mass produces and don't have serial numbers, they have BATCH numbers, because they are made in the thousands. Surprisingly one of the nicest Pellet guns that is customizable only cost $58 and it's a .22 caliber CO2 pistol. It's the Crosman model 2240.
