What to use on body to avoid bedbug bites?
Sorry - I am afraid the short answer to that is there is no chemical to put on your body that has ever proved effective in stopping or discouraging bedbugs from having your blood as their dinner, should they have taken up residence in or near any bed you are going to sleep in whether at home or staying somewhere else.
One way that might however help is not to be naked when in bed. Cover as much of your body as possible, such as with tight fitting pyjamas and socks. But really the only sure way to avoid bedbug bites is to exterminate them from your home if they are there, and I have explained how you can best do that in other answers. Also if you stay in a hotel make sure it is not on record on hotel websites as having had a bedbug problem. Also have a very thorough check in your hotel room or cabin on a ship to ensure there are no signs of bedbugs having been there before getting into that bed to sleep.
Should you kill bugs or take them outside?
The decision to kill bugs or take them outside often depends on personal values and the type of bug. Many people prefer to catch and release insects, especially beneficial ones like ladybugs or bees, to maintain ecological balance. However, if a bug poses a health risk or is invasive, it might be more appropriate to eliminate it. Ultimately, it’s about finding a solution that aligns with your beliefs and the specific situation.

How long do you freeze your clothes to kill bed bugs?
How long you would need to freeze your clothes to kill all live bedbugs in or on them and any eggs, really depends on how low the temperature is. To kill them instantly you really need to get the temperature down instantly to below -20 C, so if the temperature is not that low it will take longer for them to die.
So if you mean putting your clothes outside your home in cold weather and it is only a few degrees below zero that night, it will probably be necessary to leave them out for at least a whole night long to be sure. But if you live in somewhere like Alaska or Siberia in mid winter, then you might successfully kill them within a few minutes. But otherwise to kill bedbugs by freezing them to death instantly it might be better to use a Cryonite unit.
These units can be hired and they send out a spray that creates an extremely cold and dry ice snow from chemical action in the spray. When this snow makes contact with the bed bugs the fluids in their bodies are automatically instantly deep frozen and so the bugs die instantly. After using them there is no residue, though it might be prudent to wash your clothes before wearing them again after using a Cryonite spray or indeed if they have been outside.
Why do bed bug bites get worse after each day?
They can get infected, or you could have an allergic reaction to it. Also, it could just be that you've been scratching or rubbing on it, causing it to get irritated.

How can you tell the difference between a bed bug and a flax seed?
The bedbug goes through a number of molting stages where it could resemble a flax seed, both in color and in shape. However, if you are not in the habit of eating bagels in bed and you are finding "flax seeds", you probably have found bedbugs. Further evidence will be small bites on your legs that mysteriously appear in the morning - flax seeds do not bite.
Absolute proof will be the presence of a head and legs, all and sum-total of which scurries off on discovery, along with a somewhat malodorous aura that you have been blaming on your bedmate's rudeness. Flax seeds have neither a head nor legs, do not move of their own volition and have a mildly oily odor, not at all like flatulent gases of the human body.
Time to bring in the exterminator.
