Bob Marley (Robert Nesta Marley February 6, 1945 - May 11, 1981) was a Jamaican reggae songwriter and musician born in Nine Mile, Jamaica, and the leader of a group called the Wailers.
The group performed mainly Reggae songs such as "I Shot the Sheriff" - "No Woman No Cry" and " Could you be love?" Marley was a prominent member of the Rastafari movement. His father was a captain in the Royal Marines from Essex in the UK, and was 41 years old when Bob was born.
Marley is among the most widely known reggae performers, and his son Ziggy Marley (born 1968) is also a talent in the music field.
The I-Threes were the backing singers for Bob Marley and the Wailers after Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer left the original Wailers. The I-Threes consisted of Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt and Marcia Griffiths.

impossible to say. natural dreads (like rastas have) change in number often. new dreads form from scalp fuzz, while older dreads may combine or "congo"
the number he started with and the number at death may have changed by dozens over the years.
Bob Marley's greatest accomplishment is that his music is being accepted and appreciated worldwide for it's message content - for peace, love unity for mankind - for all to live in peace & harmony. His message continues to be spread and touch many peoples lives with it's positive vibrations through his sons & daughters.
Bob Marley was a Rastafarian.
Rasta livity (lifestyle) is living how Jah intended, with nature. He did not eat pork, nor smoke tobacco or drink alcohol. Every morning, he would wake up at 5am, eat two pieces of fruit, and run on the beach or through the hills (or in the park, when The Wailers were on tour) then come back and have breakfast. Bob also smoked a lot of Herb. He used it spiritually however, not like the stereotype of a 'stoner.'
Bob also didn't sleep much. He thought over-sleeping was lazy and wasteful.

Bob Marley was born Feb 6, 1945, in the village of Nine Mile in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica as Nesta Robert Marley. His father, Norval Sinclair Marley, was a Jamaican of mixed English and Syrian-Jewish descent whose family came from Sussex, England. Norval was a captain in the Royal Marines, as well as a plantation overseer, when he married Cedella Booker, an Afro-Jamaican then 18 years old. Norval provided financial support for his wife and child, but seldom saw them, as he was often away on trips. In 1955, when Bob Marley was 10 years old, his father died of a heart attack at age 70.
Bob Marley received a moderate Catholic upbringing by his mother Cedella, who left him 1958 in order to seek her fortune in the capital of Jamaica, Kingston. Bob was by then only 13 years old. He followed to Kingston a few months later. Bob was quite often teased by other children for his lighter skin, his different hair and slim nose. They called him a "half-castle" and other things.
In Kingston Bob (he was called "Robbie" by then) and his mother ended up in the slums of Trenchtown and the mother earned a living for both of them through temporary jobs. Bob finished elementary school in Trench Town 1960. First he only got temporary jobs as shoe shiners. Later he started working as a welder apprentice.
He got a very good friend in Neville Livingstone, better known as Bunny Wailer. During two years Bob's mother and Neville's father were a couple, living together. They got a daughter together - a little sister to Bob and Neville. She now lives in the U.S. Bob and Bunny were step siblings and had a strong common interest in singing and music. They started to take singing lessons 1959, when they still were in school, in the evenings by Joe Higgs, a local singer. At a jam session with Higgs, they met a very tall boy named Hubert McIntosh (soon known as Peter Tosh), who had similar musical ambitions.
In 1962, when Bob was 17, he recorded his first two songs, "Judge Not" and "One Cup of Coffee", with local music producer Leslie Kong. The music was called "ska". The singles sold almost not at all, and was not played by the mobile discos - the "sound systems".
In autumn1962, Bob, Neville, Peter met Junior Braithwaite, Beverley Kelso, and Cherry Smith and formed a ska vocalist group, calling themselves "The Teenagers". They later changed their name to "The Wailing Rudeboys", then to "The Wailing Wailers", at which point they were discovered by record producer Coxsone Dodd, and finally to "The Wailers".
The Wailing Wailers had a huge local jamaican hit with the song "Simmer Down", which was released in January 1963, one month before Bob's 18th birthday.
