go to a professional. do NOT do it yourself. I did it myself the first time, and alls it did was stay infected. Make sure the piercing shop you go to is sterile and stuff. But definitely go to a professional to get it done. It usually isn't that expensive.

If the piercer hits a vein (this would be due to an error on the piercers part, lack of attention to what he/she is doing) the piercing will seep blood. This is not a good thing but much better than the piercer hitting and artery which will pump blood with little sign of it stopping. This generally require a trip to the hospital to have the piercing cauterized to stop the bleeding. So before you run into issues find a good professional piercer and do your research!!

Redness around the top exit point of the piercing is not uncommon, this area is more subject to irritation from sleeping, clothing and the day to day encounters surface tissue would be subjected to. Use a q-tip and just dab the bump with the oil. Use it after you clean your piercing. I usually apply it twice a day but if that's too harsh for your piercing, only use it once a day. You don't want it to go inside the piercing, just on the bump. The oil will dry out the bump and it'll start flaking off in layers. If the tea tree oil doesn't affect it, it could be the jewelry. Especially if its a ring and gets hit often.

The following day; be careful not to "over clean" it, though. That will irritate the piercing just as much as not cleaning it.

Myself just getting my tongue pierced three weeks ago. It was hard for me to eat the first day but after that I could eat whatever I wanted, the time I took to eat it was different. Like the second day I had it done I ate a hamburger just the meat part of it, and that took me like twenty min to eat, just had to eat it in tiny bits. For me once the swelling went down which was about three or four days after I was able to eat anything.

It depends how long you were at 14ga before you went to 12ga. But that's still a pretty small size so it'll probably close up well. Even if it doesn't go completely back to 18ga, it wont be noticeable.

Make sure to clean anytype of cartliaga piercing 2-3 times a day amd use h2ocean or anytype of sea salt water 3-5 times and a day... With an infected piercing make sure to clean it when ur supposed DO NOT take out a piercing while it is infected... Anitbotics will help with infection along with the cleaning amd sea salt soaks...
