What does it mean if a guy has both his ears pierced?

Having both ears pierced means nothing for either gender, it's a personal expression with no preset meaning by intention or design. The whole left right ear thing died back in the early seventies, With the modern piercing movement even the thought of implying sexual orientation by the type of placement of piercings could result in serious personal injury due to stupid assumptions. Besides the obvious rudeness and ignorance implied by such a statement. There are simply no piercings that denote a persons sexual orientation, they are just piercings, nothing more nothing less.

Can you get a piercing in the nose at age 11?

It depends on the development of the nose and nostril ridge. Not every nostril can be pierced at your age, only a professional body piercer will be able to tell if you have developed the proper ridge at 11 years old. You may need to wait a year or two till the nose develops more. Piercing the nostril early before the ridge has developed can cause the piercing to droop and end up being placed in the wrong location. Nothings worse than a nostril piercing that's placed incorrectly.

How long do you have to wait until you can take a cartilage piercing out?

What happens if you dont pierce your nose all the way?

Uhhmmm,

why wouldn't you pierce your nose all the way

in the first place?!

and if you don't put a ring in

it will just close up.

Self done piercings always result in issues with healing, improper placement and possible infections. Leave piercing to a professional body piercer who will place it correctly and provide you with aftercare instructions and post piercing support. Piercing yourself is just making a mess out of an area that will cause issues for a professional piercer down the road and be more painful when it is pierced correctly. Give your head a shake and quit messing up your body by doing it yourself.

How long do you have to wait to go swimming after getting a monroe piercing?

There are different customs that mean different things in different situations. There is no one single custom, such as wearing an earring to signify sexual persuasion. Do not worry about sending out the right, or wrong, signal. Just wear if where you think it looks best on you.

How long do you have to clean a nostril piercing?

I personally am a body piercer, and tattoo artist, so this is a specialty of mine- although your (hopefully licensed) piercer should have sent you home with a FAQ/Instructional sheet, here is mine: I certainly do think that having your nose pierced is such a wonderful way to adorn your face! Your next step is to familiarize yourself with proper nose piercing aftercare techniques so that your piercing heals as quickly and uneventfully as possible. Learn what to do ahead of time so that you can begin proper care immediately after the piercing. It's very important to follow the piercing aftercare tips provided by your piercer. You've placed your trust in him or her to perform the piercing, and so you should accept that person's expertise.

NOSE PIERCING AFTERCARE: CLEANING SOLUTIONS

Use one or both of the following solutions for healing piercings:

  • Packaged sterile saline solution with no additives (read the label), or a non-iodized sea salt mixture: Dissolve 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized (iodine-free) sea salt into one cup (8 oz.) of warm distilled or bottled water. A stronger mixture is not better; a saline solution that is too strong can irritate the piercing. I also do recommend the brand H2Ocean- it's amazing!
  • A mild, fragrance-free liquid soap---anti-microbial or germicidal work well too. I recommend the brand Dial.
  • CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS FOR NOSE PIERCINGS

  • WASH your hands thoroughly *prior* to cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason.
  • SALINE soak for five to ten minutes once or more per day. Invert a cup of warm saline solution over the area to form a vacuum. For certain piercings it may be easier to apply using clean gauze or paper towels saturated with saline solution. A brief rinse afterward will remove any residue.
  • SOAP no more than once or twice a day. While showering, lather up a pearl size drop of the soap to clean the jewelry and the piercing. Leave the cleanser on the piercing no more than thirty seconds.
  • RINSE thoroughly to remove all traces of the soap from the piercing. It is necessary to rotate the jewelry 360* through the piercing.
  • DRY by gently patting with clean, disposable paper products. Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and snag on jewelry, causing injury.

NOSE PIERCING AFTER CARE: WHAT IS NORMAL?

Initially: some bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising.

During healing: some discoloration, itching, secretion of a whitish-yellowish colored fluid (not pus) that will form some crust on the jewelry. The tissue may tighten around the jewelry as it heals.

Once healed: the jewelry may not move freely in the piercing; do not force it. If you fail to include cleaning your piercing as part of your daily hygiene routine, normal but smelly bodily secretions may accumulate.

A piercing may seem healed before the healing process is complete. This is because tissue heals from the outside in, and although it feels fine, the interior remains fragile. Be patient, and keep cleaning throughout the entire healing period.

Even healed piercings can shrink or close in minutes after having been there for years! This varies from person to person; if you like your piercing, keep jewelry in, do not leave it empty.

NOSE PIERCING AFTERCARE: WHAT TO DO

  • Wash your hands prior to touching the piercing; leave it alone except when cleaning. During healing, it is not necessary to rotate your jewelry.
  • Stay healthy; the healthier your lifestyle, the easier it will be for your piercing to heal. Get enough sleep and eat a nutritious diet. Exercise during healing is fine; listen to your body.
  • Make sure your bedding is washed and changed regularly. Wear clean, comfortable, breathable clothing that protects your piercing while you are sleeping.
  • Showers tend to be safer than taking baths, as bathtubs can harbor bacteria. If you bathe in a tub, clean it well before each use and rinse off your piercing when you get out.

NOSE PIERCING AFTERCARE: WHAT TO AVOID

  • Avoid cleaning with Betadine®, Hibiciens®, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, other harsh or scented soaps, as these can damage cells. Also avoid ointments as they prevent necessary air circulation.
  • Avoid Bactine®, Neosporin®, pierced ear care solutions and other products containing Benzalkonium Chloride (BZK). These can be irritating and are not intended for long term wound care.
  • Avoid over-cleaning. This can delay your healing and irritate your piercing.
  • Avoid undue trauma such as friction from clothing, excessive motion of the area, playing with the jewelry, and vigorous cleaning. These activities can cause the formation of unsightly and uncomfortable scar tissue, migration, prolonged healing, and other complications.
  • Avoid all oral contact, rough play, and contact with others' bodily fluids on or near your piercing during healing.
  • Avoid stress and recreational drug use, including excessive caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol. This all can cause slower or improper healing.
  • Avoid submerging the piercing in unhygenic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, etc. Or, protect your piercing using a waterproof wound-sealant bandage (such as 3M™ Nexcare™ Clean Seals). These are available at most drugstores.
  • Avoid all beauty and personal care products on or around the piercing including cosmetics, lotions, and sprays, etc.
  • Don't hang charms or any object from your jewelry until the piercing is fully healed.

NOSE PIERCING AFTERCARE: HINTS AND TIPS/JEWELRY:

  • Unless there is a problem with the size, style, or material of the initial jewelry, leave it in the place for the entire healing period. See a qualified piercer to perform any jewelry change that becomes necessary during healing.
  • Contact your piercer if your jewelry must be removed (such as for a medical procedure). There are non-metallic jewelry alternatives available.
  • Leave jewelry in at all times. Even old or well-healed piercing can shrink or close in minutes even after having been there for years. If removed, re-insertion can be difficult or impossible.
  • With clean hands or paper product, be sure to regularly check threaded ends on your jewelry for tightness. ("Righty-tighty, lefty-loosey.")
  • Carry a clean spare ball in case of loss or breakage.
  • Should you decide you no longer want the piercing, simply remove the jewelry (or have a professional piercer remove it) and continue cleaning the piercing until the hole closes. In most cases only a small mark will remain.
  • In the event an infection is suspected, quality jewelry or an inert alternative should be left in place to allow for drainage or the infection. If the jewelry is removed, the surface cells can close up, which can seal the infection inside the piercing channel and result in an abscess. Do not remove jewelry unless instructed to by a medical professional.

NOSE PIERCING AFTERCARE: FOR PARTICULAR AREAS: EAR/EAR CARTILAGE AND FACIAL:

  • Use the T-shirt trick: Dress your pillow in a large, clean T-shirt and turn it nightly; one clean T-shirt provides four clean surfaces for sleeping.
  • Maintain cleanliness of telephones, headphones, eyeglasses, helmets, hats, and anything that contacts the pierced area.
  • Use cation when styling your hair and advise your stylist of a new or healing piercing.

Each body is unique and healing times vary considerably. Although, for nose piercings- it is generally around 6-8 weeks. If you have any questions at all, please contact your piercer, or feel free to send me a message!

Does wal mart pierce ears?

No, none of the stores offer this service, nor would I really advise you to go to them for this either. The "piercers" that they have at such keosks in malls and the like are not piercers in the standard definition of the word since they've had NO formal training, usually know nothing of bloodborne pathogens and cross contamination, use ear crunching piercing guns (which cannot be sterilized properly) in places where such a device was never meant to pierce, the jewelry that they shoehorn into your ear is usually too small to account for swelling so you'll be in some pain afterwards, and lastly they give you really low quality astringent for your ears which will either dry them out or irritate them most of the time. Best to go to a body piercer in your area, have a look at their portfolio, and then get a piercing through them.

Why does ear piercing hurt?

Ear Piercing hurts because they use a needle to make a hole in your ear but your nerves dont know that you want this done so they send signals to your brain telling your brain that something is inflicting damage upon you and your brain makes that part of you that is getting peirced send out signals which is pain. Obviously it shouldn't hurt if you get your ear numbed before peircing...

Neither of those are problematic if you go to a certified, reputable piercer.

If it's new, its just part of healing. If not, it could be from hitting it or even getting sick/allergies. Just soak it in warm water and keep cleaning it as normal. If its old, you might wanna change the jewelry to a longer bar so that it doesn't get too tight.

How do you remove the blackness off on your belly button piercing since its closed?

Most of the time, a black discoloration around a piercing is caused by the erosion of impure metals, such as plated pieces. Unfortunately, if this happens, and is allowed to heal this way, there really is no way to remove the discoloration. However, if you were wearing only pure metals like surgical steel, there is no reason for this discoloration and should check with a doctor.

Where can you buy ear piercing cleanser?

There is a store called claire's . It's all the malls around my area, any piercing or tattoo shop, walmart too.

You can also make your own - add half a teaspoon of sea salt to boiling water, allow to cool to the point where it feels warm rather than hot. This is called a sea salt soak and is recommended by most piercers.

EDIT: Claires soultion is alcohol based and terrible for piercings. You could also buy saline wound wash ( make sure its only sea salt and water...)

Why is the tip of your tongue bruised after piercing?

It could just be from the way the piercer handled it or the clamps.
