The cup letter means how many inches the difference between your ribcage and your bust are. If your ribcage and bust both measure 24, you would wear a 24AA, since an AA equals a 0 inch difference. If your ribcage measures 36 and your bust measures 46, you would wear a 36GG, since a GG means there is a 10 inch difference.
A 32 band is not small, it means your ribcage equals 32 inches. This is one of the most common band sizes.

Padded bras make your boobs look bigger and firmer and they feel a lot better. There are no metal wires in the frame.
Using a flexible measuring tape, measure (in inches) around the upper rips (right below your boobies). Let's say this number is 31in. Add 5in. to get your band size, which would be 36in. Then, measure (in inches) the widest part of your boobs. Lets say this number is 39in. Subtract this number by your band size. If the difference is 1, your an A cup, 2 would be a B cup, 3 would be a C cup. Your size would be 36C. Most stores have AA (-1 inches) to DD (5 inches).

A one inch difference = A cup, two inches = B cup, three inches = C cup, etc. Example: 39 inches - 36 band size = 3 = C cup. Bra size is 36C. The problem is that this traditional method of bra sizing usually gives a size that doesn't fit well and contributes to the belief that "80% of women wear the wrong size bra." An alternative method of bra measuring has been developed by a plastic surgeon. Band size is determined by the traditional formula but cup size is determined by direct measurement of the breast.
