You can bruise yourself by knocking or hitting a body part. It does not have to be hit hard - just enough to burst a blood vessel beneath the skin.

It can be, its called a subdural hematoma - you might want a doctor to take a look.

we get bruises because it is bleeding under the skin which causes the discoloration. If you bump yourself and have a bruise athe next day its from bleeding under the skin. If however you always have bruises or bruise eaisly see your doctor.

You would typically think some type of trauma would cause this, like pounding with your palm, or carpal tunnel surgery could certainly cause bruising. A bruise is really a broken blood vessel, (or several together). Look for other areas of bruising on your body as well and if you find you are bruising a lot or for no reason, you need to go to your Dr to have your blood analyzed.

Not necessarily. A bruise may occur from what you thought was only a small bump, or when you are so busy doing something (especially in sports) that you don't notice the injury until a bruise actually forms. However, if you are prone to getting these bruises and particularly if there is a family history of haemophilia and other like diseases, you should consult a doctor, just in case.

It could be a poltergeist in other words a bad spirit, can be caused by interfering with spirit, using oija boards & other forms of communication between the living and the dead, or you could just have long finger nails and you got a mosquito bite and you scratched it in your sleep :)

A contusion is a bruise. During the first 48-72 hours, ice applied several times a day for 10-15 minutes each time can reduce inflammation. After 72 hours, moist heat helps. Otherwise leave it alone. The body will fix it by itself.

A lot of the time when the weather is hot or the temperature changes, your veins may tend to rise closer to your skin. Your vein may hurt because it is touching other things in your hand. Your hand bruises because your vein might partly break and you might bleed under your skin. This is normal and do not worry. A knock or trauma to the skin will cause blood vessels to rupture. As platelets are responsible for clotting, the rupture will bleed for longer, causing larger bruising and allowing bruising to occur more readily.

It is called a bruise or contusion, and is caused by blood vessels bursting under the skin due to the impact, forming a bulge.

They happen more easily on the head because there is less padding, the vessels are pushed against the skull on impact, with little subcutaneous fat or other tissues in the way. This is the reason why they are also more prominent, with the bone directly behind them, they can't do anything except bulge outwards. A thigh bruise on the other hand has soft tissues to push against inside the leg.
