First you have to stake it down and scrape all the membrane and fat off of it. then turn it around and scrape the hair off the other side, unless you want to leave it on. then work the hide over a tree limb or some rocks to limber it up. then take the brain from the animal{or you can use a pig brain from the butcher shop} and boil it in 1 cup of water. Then rub the brain on both sides of the hide until it is gone and pour the rest of the water out. Then roll it up and let it sit for like 4 hours. then hang it up and wor both sides with a graining tool until its dry. How has the domestic cow been breed from the bison?

The domestic cow has never been bred from the bison, ever. Domestic cattle come from the ancient Aurochs, a species of bovid that is separate from the bison species, both North American and European.

However, crossbreeding between domestic cattle and bison have been taking place and still is practiced today. The cross is called a Beefalo cross, though the cross itself is primarily 5/8 domestic bovine and 3/8 bison, since a 1/2 domestic cow-bison cross is often not fertile enough to be considered suitable for any breeding herd--this is especially so in the males, due to the fact that the testes are both too small and too close to the body to make them very suitable for breeding.

What is the correct expression for busy as a buffalo?

The preferred expression is "BUSTLIN' like a Bison" for the only time you ever see a buffalo get active about anything is during the rut, or Rutting Season. Otherwise they are oblivious to anything and everything around them, (as long as you are not down wind of them) because of their typically poor eyesight and heavy weight.

This is more or less one of archaic colloquialisms of the time that has lost its priority in our society today and was a more genteel plainsman's way of saying you were "slow" or rather clueless to your own immediate surroundings.

Can you milk a buffalo and how?

Bison are not milked for a couple of reasons. First, the teats on female bison are very small. Also, bison are undomesticated animals, and the females do not adapt well to the type of handling necessary in a milking operation.

Any product labeled as buffalo milk is produced from the milk of water buffalo. Water buffalo are a separate species, and are not related to bison, even though American bison are commonly known as buffalo.

In Addition:

It depends on the "buffalo" you are talking about.

Water Buffalo can be and are milked a lot. This is where all your products labeled "buffalo milk" come from. It is common in India and many places around the world have started farms that import water buffalo to milk.

African Buffalo are extremely dangerous, and hence nobody would dare milk them.

Why can't water buffalo survive in the Arctic region?

It's too cold for them, for one, not to mention the fact that there's just not enough food available to sustain them for an entire year. The plants that grow in the Arctic only grow for a few months, and are too coarse and sparse to sustain a healthy water buffalo herd.

As far as the cold is concerned, water buffalo, though their hides are thick, their hair coat is thin and too "slick" to ensure their survival in the Arctic tundra, even on the warmest summer days. These animals are adapted for tropical climates that never, ever see six to eight feet of snow any time of the year.
