How do you stop burning pain at the tip of the penis during urination Started right after and has continued for weeks since unprotected sex What causes this-Neither of us have STDs?

If you are sure you do not have an STD, you could have a bacterial urinary infection or you may have a yeast problem. If yeast is the problem and you are still having unprotected sex, you are exchanging the yeast back and forth. Men can be carriers of yeast with or without symptoms (asymptomatic). Do not have any more unprotected sex, because STD's is the minimal ailment you can receive without protection. Please protect yourself!

How do you care for burn blisters and raw skin?

I currently have raw skin because i popped my burn blister so i can tell you what I've learned. Do not put any oils such as vitamin E or lotion on it until it has scabbed over. If you are not up and about in public areas, then you should be letting it air out. I know it hurts but keeping it too moist by keeping it covered will keep it from healing as well as up the chances for infection. Coat it lightly with neosporin or silver sulfadiazine cream. Both ointments are antibiotic and will help keep it from drying out too fast as well as help it to heal. Don't wear shoes, and try not to pick at it. clean it twice a day with a gentle unscented soap or as needed but do not scrub at it or else you will ruin the new skin trying to form. You can also get something with aloe vera in it. Aloe vera is known for it's healing properties, and you can put it on raw skin. If there is swelling keep the affected area elevated if possible and take an anti-inflamatory. after it has scabbed over you can put vitamin E and or grap eseed oil to help your skin heal.

How long for a 2nd degree burn to heal?

It can take as long as a few hours, depending on the size of the area burned. The best thing to do is to take an oral pain med (aspirin, Tylenol, etc.), and keep the burned area in cold water. The cold will help the pain, but do not put ice directly on it; the ice can cause further injury. If the pain subsides while in the cold water, and returns when removing the cold water, simply keep putting the burned area back in the cold water until the pain eased up. If the area is not one that you can easily immerse in cold water (as you could a hand or foot), you can use cold compresses. Have a bowl of ice water with several cloths in it, and as the cloth on the burn warms, replace it with one from the bowl of ice water, and put the used cloth in the ice water. But again, do not place ice directly on the burn. And do not put any type of oily or greasy substance on the burn (unless it's a cream or ointment made specifically for burns) since it can actually hold the heat in, and cause the pain to last longer.

Can triple antibiotic prevent a large second degree burn infection?

It could, and you should apply it to the burn, but in case of a large second degree burn, it's recommended you go immediately to see a doctor.

It's actually not a good idea to apply the triple antibiotic at all on serious burns, not because it won't work as effectively on large and serious burns such as a 2nd degree burn but it's a topical and you don't want those antibiotics to get in your system which applying to the burn will do. The antibiotics are not good to have in the system at all which is why it's also not recommended for large or deep cuts that go into the dermis. You definitely need to go see a doctor so they can prescribe a prescription that won't interfere or react to being in your system. The most commonly prescribed burn cream is called Silvadene and it has a generic on the market so it's relatively cheap.

At what temperature do you start to get third degree burns?

There is no one specific temperature that will cause one to suffer from third degree burns. This is because the severity of the burn is not only dictated by the temperature of the heat source, but also how a person is exposed (i.e. directly or through cloth) and how long the heat is applied. Even lower temperatures can cause third degree burns if a person is subjected to the heat for long enough. As a general guide, any temperature above 140 degrees will cause immediate third degree burns.
