Easiest way to fix the problem is to flush your heater core with distilled water. If this does not work you will have to take it in to have the actuator door on the driver side replaced which will cost you around $150. More times than not it is fixed by the flushing.

And detach the harness connector and putput cable from the alt.
Just so you know the bolt nearest the exhaust manifold can't be removed from the bracket but can be backed out to allow it to be taken out.
You'll have to remove the a/c splash shield from the cradle and the access panel from the bottom side of the radiator and disconnect the engine harness from its cradle. You can move the alt away from the engine and pull it out from the bottom side of the engine

The 1997 Cadillac Eldorado has fairly unique "1/4" side lock" wiper arm attachments. See the Sources and Related Links section below for wiper blade installation videos and wiper blade information. Also, if you purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Lastly, purchasing wipers is a little more tricky now-a-days than in the past. Do not just buy by length - lookup the proper wipers by vehicle make, model and year because that will ensure correct attachment as well as lengths. Again, see the Sources and Related Links section below for wiper blade size lookup.
