Why does a 40 year old carpenter requier more calories than a 40 year old architect?
In theory a carpenter would be using more energy than an architect, though that would be a generalisation.

How often and how much should a cat eat per day?
Cats will usually self-regulate and eat what they need, so you should just make sure they have food. A cat that gets fat is probably not getting too much food, it's getting the wrong kind of food.
A cat should, when standing, have an outline like a race track when seen from above (straight sides and rounded ends). If it either narrows or widens toward the back end, the cat is too thin or too fat respectively.

I think your caloric burn calculations are wrong. For a woman who weighs only 120 lbs to burn a 1000 calories a day via exercise, she would have to be doing extreme athletics. If you are not a professional ballerina, olympic athlete, or a serial marathoner, I do not see how you could be using 1000 calories through exercise every day. That said, "only 1400" calories seems about right for a 120 lb woman. You are stating it as though you are somehow eating a restricted diet {"only"} that's about what most 120 lb women eat every day. 1400-1600 calories. 1600 calories would be on the higher end to maintain that weight. It looks like you have asked this question repeatedly, and no one understands it, because you are basically claiming that you have exercise anorexia and exercise for about 8 hours a day, but then you also eat 1400 calories. No one who was sick enough to desperately exercise all day long would then allow herself to eat normally. Perhaps you should go to a gym and get a free consult from a trainer there? Because something in you math is way off. I hope this doesn't seem snarky, I am being sincere- your math is OFF.
How many grams of carbohydrates are in one serving of 270 calories?
Depends on the food. Fruits and vegetables contain carbs, meat generally doesn't.
How long it will take to lose 30 pounds from a 1200 calorie diet?
Depends on how high your normal calorie need is. A fairly small woman living a sedate life might only need 1500 to start with, so wouldn't lose much on 1200 cal. An active male might have a daily need of 2500, and would drop quite fast (and suffer for it!) on 1200 cal.
It's probably healthier to take the reverse approach. Aim for a loss of 1-3 lbs/week, and see how many cals(abover 1200) you can afford to reach that rate.
For most people, 1200 cals would be a quite strict diet. You need a rather good meal plan to make sure you're getting all your essential nutrients on that.
