A cello can play in the range of a violin (much of it), if that's what you mean, but a violin's highest note is much higher than a cello's highest note.

The "stick" is called the endpin. With the screw on the side, you can adjust it up or down, depending on how you want your cello positioned.

Well, Andrea Amati is thought to have crafted the first example of a cello-shaped bass viol, and whether it was known as a violoncello or not is questionable. He made "The King" cello in the 16th century, and although it has been modified (made smaller in this case), the original cello is thought of to be the modern model of the baroque cello: wide. There were many viol-instruments during the quattrocento and the renaissance as a whole, but none approached the "modern-cello-look" of the Amati. Amati's sons and pupils went on to eventually teach Antonio Stradivari, the famed 18th century luthier.

you put you pinky (fourth finger) on the g string only a little flat ( fourth finger is the same as an open string)

A cello is not usually very heavy, light enough to carry with one arm, but don't do it because you may bump into something and smash the poor thing.

It is usually 8-30 pounds. It depends on the wood, how big it is and how hollow it is. But most are pretty light.

When you are in fourth position on A string, your second finger is on F. Fifth position is where you put your first finger (index finger) and put it on that F. A string is just my example. It works on all strings.

The notes in the e-flat major scale are the same for all instruments, Eb, F, G, Ab, Bb, C, and D.

The sheet music for the movie, 'transformers,' does not include a part for the cello. The only stringed instruments found in the music are the guitar and piano in 'Before It's Too Late (Sam And Mikaela's Theme).'

There is four strings on a Cello, they start in order of the highest pitch starting at A going on to D then G and C! Cellos have five positions 1st position, half position, 3rd position, 4th position and harmonic position!

It completely depends on how experienced the teacher is. If you get a fresh out of college person, or a student still in college, you can ask for a cheaper lesson than those of professionals. You usually rate your price per hour or half hour. If you have an hour lesson with a college student in a rural area, you or the teacher could come up with the price or agree upon it. The average price could be about $30-40 an hour. With more experienced cellists, it will be much more expensive.

The origins of the cello can be traced back to the lira (or lyra) of the 9th century CE, a bowed instrument used in the Byzantine Empire. It spread through Europe in the 11th and 12th centuries and became the cello. The lira is also an ancestor of the violin.

It depends on what level you're at with the instrument,what size you need,and what kind of sound you're looking for.

Your going to have to do better than that. I know it depends, if that's all your going to say why did you waste your time and my time. Someone that cares help me out here. I know you can get a really good cello for $20000, but if you are budget minded, and don't want a soundless piece of plywood, you should check out Abz Fornitori Musicali. I got a cello from them back in May that sounds amazing!!!! I also only paid around $750!! They are in Wisconsin. Very highly recommended!

One way to alter a cellos sound is by puttting a mute on. Another way is to do the con legno. You could a lso tremelo or vibrato. If you want the strings to play a different note you could put your fingers down or you could change the tuning of the strings.

Sizes are based off either age or weight. For instance, the tag should read 3-6 mos/12-18 lbs. Best thing to do is to go by the weight as some children do weigh the same at the same age as another child.

It depends on what scale you're trying to do. The notes just continue from the E to G then it restarts. For example, E, F, G, A, B, C, D is the E scale.

i grade 8 at flute, piccolo and bass flute... and i can beatbox on ALL of them :)
