gymnastics is a sport that needs to be started when your very young.

i have been doing it since i was 3 years old, and i am now amost 15. it takes tons of hours a week trianing and isn't for the lazy or weak.its really fun and gives you great endurance, determination, and a great body!

Well in the late 1800's cheerleading was a all guys sport.

Then closer to the end of the 1800's girls were also put in due to

not being involved at school and haveing a part.

Then officially a college group got together as a group which is considered the first squad

competitive cheerleaders don't get paid only if you are a coach so don't just become a cheerleader cuz you think you get money ... u actually have to pay money to be on it because of competition fees and rentals for uniforms and stuff so ya

A girl with alot of spunk and great personality. Strong, loud, and sharp. Even if you mess up, if you have a great personality and smile, the judges will remember that and take it into consideration. someone who you can tell they cheer from within.

• As with all sports, cheerleading is high risk. This is increased my the gymnastics and arial elements (stunts). If you land a tumbling move wrong on you head or neck it could be fatal. Stunting is also dangerous for both the flyer and the bases. If a flyer is dropped the wrong way it could be potentially fatal. Bases often come in contact with feel, elbows, knees, and other boney body parts, that if hit in the head with could cause damage. Ways to reduce the risks are to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS practice on mats and with a trained coach

there could be but it wouldnt be that easy to to some kicking but you can try out no matter what size you are and if your fat and you make it than your a fat cheerleader theres nothing wrong with that

yes, I do. Even though it is a small school and only about 14 girls tryout for it, you still have to. Our Squad is only 8, at least for football cheerleading. Our basket ball is 3 right now and westling is 6 with 2 alternates.

It depends on the size of the competition and who the governing body is that's sanctioning the particular competition.

A local or state competition often only requires one (possibly two) judges per event. The U.S. Junior Olympic National competition requires four judges per event. The Olympics and many international competitions divide their judges into two panels: the D-panel (which determines the D-score based on the content of the routine and difficulty of its skills) and the E-panel (which determines execution and form errors). Two judges are required on the D-panel, and six judges are required on the E-panel.

There are many more variations than this, but this should give you an idea of how some places break it down.

yes cheer is definatly a team sport for one group .

you need a flyer , ( top )

TWO bases

a backspot ( back )

front spot ( front )

that is for one group on the team of around 30 you need 5 in each group

5x4=20 then you need SPARES at least 10 a spare for every top so around

4 spare tops if there are 4 groups then you need spares for back front & bases :)

All states consider cheerleading a sport if they don't then they should. Im a cheerleader and i always have a hint of a bad mood because i stay up almost all night practicing my stunts and i have to beg my mom to let me go to my friends house who is on my squad to practice with her. So ya cheer is a sport cause you practically risk your life being thrown up in the air.

Yes Abigail made the 2008-2009 DCC squad. In fact she is on the cover of the DCC 2009 swimsuit calendar and is featured in January.

Also she is in the very center of the 2008-9 squad photo. She has tried out for the 2009-2010 squad and currently is in training camp in hopes of cheering at the new Cowboys Stadium as a 3 year veteran. She is 20 years old.

It has been rumored she will not try out for the 4th year as may go to college outside of Dallas (unclear if she will set her sights on becoming a doctor like her mother who is an ophthalmologist)

varsity cheer is mostly for junior and senior cheerleaders do to the fact that they have more experience in the sport whereas jv cheer is mostly for sophomores and freshmen due to the fact that they have less experience, but will ultimately make varsity as they gain more experience. there are cases where freshmen and sophomores go straight to varsity.

This would seem to be a team cheer in sports, such as "Burn the Wildcats!" when you are playing against a team known as the Wildcats. Burn the Nets is most likely referring to the basketball team, the Nets.

The Dallas Cheerleaders and known as the CowBelles and Beaux were created in 1961. They consisted of local High School talent. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders as we know them today started in 1972 with the minimum age requirement of 18 years old.

When they were first accepted into training camp, they assured Kelli that DCC was their first priority, but they lied. In doing so, they took someone else's spot who actually cared about the squad. They were kicked off when they put the pageants first.

It takes practice. You can look up videos on such places as Google and Youtube and search how to twirl a drumstick.

You would definitely need a twirling instructor. You can search for one on Google or in your local paper. You will also need a baton. You can find these on online sites. Also, having a good pair of tennis shoes is good to start on.

You can't just "become" a flyer/flier in cheerleading. Most flyers/fliers are small and or short. You must know many stunts like a liberty, bow and arrow, scorpion, arabesque, and many more. You must work hard on your flexibility also.

Becoming a flyer for cheerleading usually can only happen if your small or short or if your flexiblie. but if you ask your coach then they will let you fly usually. Sometimes you can become a flyer if there are lots of big people on your team. I know a girl and she's not small but she flys, things can happen :) But when you are a flyer, you have to know how to be tight in the air, by locking your knees, and legs, and squeezing., and not letting you leg pop out of place. So work on your flexibilty,by holding a straddle sit and doing your splits can help. Good Luck :)

Well like they said you can't really do anything to become a flier.

You have to be somewhat thin and short.

I am a flier myself, and no offense so to anyone else, but I think it is way more fun than being a base.

I mean you get to be height in the air and it feels great!

But if you are 5' 7" or something.. I wouldn't expect to be a flier even if you are skinny.

I mean it might happen but most likely not.

They pick the tiniest girls to be fliers.

Ashley: That's not true..mainly you have to be thin, yes, but I know girls on my squad that are like 5'7 and they are great flyers! But yes you do need to be flexible....
