Their can't really be a prediction. I am 5'5 and 12 yr's old with my father being 5'9 and grandfather 6'3. But my sister is 5'2 at 17 years old. But you do stop growing at age 18-21 so you have a decent amount of more time.

Is it legal to lock a child in the bathroom for several hours as a punishment?

Seclusion means the confinement of a child, in any room, in a manner that prevents the child from leaving. This site will give you your states laws on restraint and seclusion: Scroll to the bottom and click on your state. Most states do not have local laws pertaining to this issue or, they are making laws. Federal law provides for restraint and seclusion in schools, foster homes, hospital settings, group homes and nursing homes. However, not all states address this issue. Regarding seclusion in the home as punishment, usually it is reported to Social Services and, after an investigation they feel the child is at risk, they will remove the child from the home. The guidelines for seclusion are that you have the means to constantly watch the child while in seclusion. You cannot prohibit the child from leaving the room, they have to be able to leave. There are many documented cases in which a child has died while in seclusion. That is too big a chance to take. There are other better ways to address misbehavior. Here is a site I think you may like that gives you information on different punishments and the effects it has on the child: I worked 25 years in the social services field and, at first I thought this was all baloney. I found out it is NOT and when I had to raise my grandchildren, I used these guidelines and WOW, what an improvement over what I did when I raised my own children. It does work. You will have to put in a bit more work in the beginning because you have to be consistent and follow through and that takes extra effort on your part. However, it will not take long for your child to accept different forms of discipline, rules. I used to tell parents if they threw away all parenting materials and I could give them one single word that works, that word is consistency. The use of seclusion is totally unacceptable if the child is under 10 and should only be used in ages over 10 using the same rule of not locking the door. Sending them to their room or any room where there are distractions just does not work as punishment. You can get a ton of ideas online by searching for acceptable and age appropriate punishments. In parenting books discipline is defined as the rules guidelines and standards we set for our children. Punishment is defined as the act of a parent when the rules, guidelines or standards are broken.. Punishment should always fit the 'crime'. It should also be age appropriate and not excessive. Excessive punishment works to a parents disadvantage. The child will forget what the 'crime' was because the punishment is so severe, they do not associate the crime with the punishment. You will find this addressed in the last site I gave you. I am probably rambling on but, I just really want to give you as much information as I can so you can implement better discipline and punishment skills.

What causes Upper labial frenulum to be in between front teeth?

The upper labial frenulum is a small fold of tissue that connects the inside of the upper lip to the gum tissue between the two front teeth. When the frenulum is positioned more toward the teeth than usual, it can be due to genetic factors or developmental variations during early growth. This misplaced frenulum can sometimes contribute to spacing issues between the teeth or affect oral functions such as speech and eating. In some cases, it may require intervention if it leads to dental concerns or discomfort.

Do you whip your kids?

This is a reference to Ray Willliam Johnson's song, but yes, yes I do :P

To add onto the answer on top. You should not whip your kids because I'm pretty positive it's illegal (at least in the USA it is). Besides there are plenty of other ways to discipline your child that doesn't include whipping them. Although a few generations ago a parent whipping their child wasn't uncommon.

How frequently should a 2 year old child urinate in a day?

A child should urinate every few hours - whatever makes sense considering how often the toddler eats and drinks. A decrease in urine output in a toddler can be an indication of a moderate to severe health issue that requires medical attention. Even a short-term decrease in urination can indicate a potential problem. In many cases, if it is caught early, the treatment can be simple but it should be closely monitored.

What is the difference between sequence of development and rate and why is important?

You have to remember that children develop at different rates, information and sources we receive are only guidelines. These help us to monitor what children can and can't do at certain stages in their lives. It will also help us to plan effectively to ensure they get the attention they need, in the areas in which they find challenging.

Physical development follows a definate sequence an example of this would be that a baby would have to first learn how to hold his/her own head up before they would be able to sit with just it's lower back supported.

While the sequences are common amongst most children what often changes is the rate in which they develop the skills. It is important to monitor a child's sequence and rate of development in order for us to determine the kind of help he/she will need and of whom they will need to be referred too.

At what age do kids decide if they are gay?

Kids do not "decide" if they are gay or straight. For most people, awareness of their sexual orientation comes a puberty.

An Additional Perspective:This is a hotly debated issue. While some claim that sexual attraction is a matter of genetics or in uterodevelopment, no amount of scientific research has yet revealed any link at all; only further speculation has resulted.

That being factually stated, all human behavior is a matter of choice (either the actual choice or the refusal to choose--both are choices). People choose their mates, or not. People choose their associations, or not. People choose their form of sexual expression. Consciously or unconsciously, it is all still a matter of choice. So, people choose to be heterosexual, homosexual, or asexual, as least at to their manner of practice.

Sexual orientation is typically a question answered at puberty when sexual attraction is nascent, but social-cognitive theory dictates that environment (nurture in what ever form it is experienced) can play a huge role in how and when that particular decision is made.

Is being a tattle tale bad?

yes, and no

sometimes telling is the right thing to do. especially if someone is going to get hurt. but some times its not worth telling on people if its only a little thing.

think about it like this is anything REALY bad going to hapen if you don't tattle?

No.

Tattling is not wrong. If something has happened that is still weighing on your mind then its best to get it off your shoulders. Tattling is neccesary even if the person is not going to be harmed. Stealing does not harm the person however it is something that should be "tattled" on (think of yourself as the one being stolen from) Friends doing drugs most definentely is harmful and should be "tattled" on, very low level and annonymously. As much as they would be mad at you for telling on them (briefly if they are true friends) The time you "tattle" may be the "push" out of that lifestyle they need.

Most of the time, if you are constantly thinking about a certain issue then you yourself are concerned. When your friends tell you what they've eaten for dinner, do you feel the need to tell autoritive figures? No, you most likely forget, however if something that had happen or something that had been done is on your mind, the feeling you most likely are feeling is guilt. Guilt for knowing something and not doing something about it. You yourself could put forth the effort before-hand and try to fix it without adults help. But if you fail or just know it is out of your hands, then its best someone is notified about the problem.

How heredity affects growth and development of an individual?

Heredity plays a crucial role in an individual's growth and development by determining genetic traits inherited from parents, such as physical characteristics, height, and susceptibility to certain health conditions. These genetic factors influence not only physical attributes but also aspects of behavior, intelligence, and personality. Additionally, heredity can interact with environmental factors, shaping overall development in unique ways. Together, these influences create a complex interplay that guides an individual's growth trajectory throughout life.

Why seizure often occurs during sleep time?

Seizures often occur during sleep due to changes in brain activity and the balance of neurotransmitters, which can be disrupted during this state. The brain's decreased responsiveness to external stimuli during sleep may also contribute to an increased likelihood of seizure activity. Additionally, certain types of epilepsy, such as nocturnal seizures, are specifically linked to sleep cycles, particularly during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep when brain activity is heightened. Lack of sleep or sleep disorders can further exacerbate the risk of seizures.
